Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe had read the reviews about the area and so we were aware that it wasn’t the nicest. Having said that we walked at night to find a great Greek restaurant a couple of blocks away and returned late from the station and walked again and had no issues at all. We stayed twice at this hotel and had a superior room the first time and had no issues with noise from the busy road. When we returned we stayed in a comfort room and the traffic noise was very loud which made it difficult to sleep. If staying there again we would opt for a superior room.
The hotel was within close proximity to the Larissa station which was great. There was a pool and lovely rooftop with a bar, where you could see the Acropolis. The rooms were a good size and they had complimentary tea, coffee and water which we really appreciated.

AustraliaThe pool was great until it was taken over day in/day out by younger tourists every day we were there. Wasn't very relaxing.
We did enjoy the pool...and we loved Vasa (sorry if i got that wrong!) She was lovely and gave us some great sites to visit, other than the norm.

The pool area was lovely and chilled, with great views, food and staff. The room was nice and hosted 4 of us comfortably. The staff also saved an item for us when we mistakenly left it behind.

United KingdomThe hotel is on the main road between 2 metro stations. Daytime is good and very busy however nighttime feels very unsafe especially around the back on the hotel. We avoided the back of the hotel as we were warned beforehand.
The hotel was great with a small pool on the rooftop. The opening hours was til midnight for the rooftop which seemed very early for Athens.

United StatesIt is not the ideal location, but we were already taxiing to most activities so we opted for the lower cost versus tourist area convenience. This place was an excellent value - you get what you pay for and I needed a clean functional place to rest and Candia Hotel was perfect for that. I would recommend for anyone just needing a place to rest.
This place is very modest with a small but functional restroom. Beds were the firmest I've ever felt - some may not like them (it was OK for me). This is not a luxury hotel, but is a great value with cleanliness, functionality, a nice view, friendly and helpful staff for a great price. This was ideal for our family as we were out and about every day and just needed a place to sleep. I read a number of reviews about pest control concerns, but personally did not see any insects in my room, in the common areas, nor on the rooftop area where the pool and bar are located.

United StatesThe Pool. I knew it was small... not conducive for lap swimming. But it was packed with young guests that just stood in the water. I wanted to relax, float...especially after walking around a hot Athens...and I do not mind socializing. But seeing a few trying to get some of the young tourists to buy/try drugs from them was awful. I was happy to see one young man walk away after saying no many times. This is also next to a Bar where the employees did not engage or seem to care about the guests. So I did not even bother telling them. There was a moment where I did get what I wanted and it was divine to rest by the pool.
Reception staff was Amazing and went beyond to ensure I had a good stay. :) My room was clean and comfortable. The view from the roof and pool was a nice surprise. It was in a very 'true greek' neighborhood. No 'touristy' places and I had the best dinner at Tasty Corner and coffee nearby. Watched the Soccer game with the locals.

CanadaThe downside of being close to the train stations is you heard the squeaking of the rails all the time. (Can’t be controlled by the hotel, but if you need quiet, maybe ask to be on the “no view” side. Also, every night from about 10:30pm to 11:30pm, there was a “furniture moving party” that seemed to be happening above us on the 7th floor pool deck area. Not sure what was happening, but again, if you like quiet, ask for a 3rd floor room on the opposite side. But these were small things, the hotel was still good value for what we paid.
The hotel was clean and staff nice. Breakfast was very good value as it had a lot of hot and cold options. Location was close to two train stations and about a 10-15 minute walk to the main square and shops. The photo attached is the view from our balcony.
