Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceEverything was as we thought it would be! Just only a reminder that the old town area has stairs and it might be difficult to some people, for us it was not an issue!!
Beautiful Cycladic small rooms that are very different from the typical hotel rooms. Katrina was amazing and very helpful! Extremely clean and graphic!

United StatesChecking in was challenging because the reception did not come for a long time, even when I gave them advanced warning I was coming at a certain time and after I called using the phone at the entrance.
Very cute little apartment, good for one person for one night. Extremely cute location up in a less busy part of the old town with many cats around.

IrelandThe shower didn’t have a stand on the wall for the hose and so you have to hold it up washing hair etc. but this is minor. The electric went out and nobody had came to let us know or messaged us to let us know what happened etc but these things are not the providers fault!!
Close to port, perfect little accomodation snuggled into the streets of Naxos. Around the shops, a little farther from the new town of Naxos but manageable. Katerina was lovely when checking in and out. Coffee supplied in room and fridge for all essentials. Mini toiletries provided also.

AustraliaWe loved this spot in Naxos, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The small area outside was perfect to sit and enjoy a morning coffee and the drying racks were very handy too. This apartment is in the perfect location, close to everything and in a quiet area.

United KingdomWe were under the impression that there might be an outside space as we booked a superior room (and the pictures showed some sort of outside seating area). Old town is very compact, but a seat outside would have been nice.
A lovely room, right in the middle of Chora old town. A super location to explore this historic place.

GreeceThe shared balcony needs to be divided by a partition. We always felt awkward and were afraid to go out on the balcony, and our neighbors would hide from us. One time, there was a strange smell coming from the bathroom.
Very atmospheric, lost in the very heart of the labyrinth of old narrow streets. Close to the port and the promenade, as well as the AVATON 1739 café viewpoint. A very cozy room that matches the photos. There is a small kitchen, a kettle, instant coffee, and tea. Plus kitchen utensils and a small refrigerator. A charming balcony with a glimpse of the sea. The hostess is pleasant, and everything is perfectly clean. The price is reasonable outside the peak season.

Host is very friendly! The room is adorable and comes with a little kitchen, which we didn’t even expect but were pleasantly surprised! The hotel was a little bit difficult to find at first, but we used Apple maps which is probably not the best to use. It’s tucked away, rather than super close to the touristy areas so it was nice and quiet. We loved it!

AustraliaNestled within the Burgos section of the Chora of Naxos, Burgos Barrio provides comfortable character accommodation with all the mod cons. The best part was the little square adjacent to the property which has fresh spring water and a host of cats who are lovingly cared for by the owner, Katerina, and her neighbour, also Katerina. Katerina is a gracious and attentive host. Highly recommended.

The location was ideal (near to the front with a number of restaurants and the walk down there takes you through a number of small shops, about a 15 minute walk to the beach which was perfect for us and then a 15 minute walk to not only the ferry port but also Apollos temple. When we arrive we were greeted by Katerina who showed to us straight to our rooms which were perfect. We had a balcony with a beautiful view as well as the room being a decent size for us. An amazing stay here would consider again if I ever came back to Naxos.

FinlandIt took some time to find the hotel in the labyrinth of the old town.
Just an overnight stay, but my experience was very positive. The hotel is situated in the very heart of Naxos old town, close to everything but quiet and peaceful. The little room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen area was functional. Our host Katerina was most friendly.

United StatesBeautiful small hotel a winding climb up from the street level of beautiful Naxos. The owner, Katerina, was warm, friendly and inviting. Made us all feel welcomed. We also loved interaction with the sweet kitties that make the area their home. Looking forward to our next visit to Naxos where we'll stay here again. Thank you Katerina!
