The AC didn't work initially, but Emmanouil promptly provided us with another room

A great choice for those who prefer a more casual hotel experience. The room is equipped with everything you need. Emmanouil, the host, is very sweet and accommodating. Situated in the charming village of Plaka, just across from the water, the hotel is within easy walking distance of tavernas and Plaka beach. The tranquil bay offers calm waters, ideal for a relaxing swim. Additionally, there is a minimarket next door, an ATM machine, and cute souvenir stores. We had a great time!

Nothing- perfect stay.

Our second stay at Athina Villas and just as good second time round... Emmanouil the owner is an incredibly nice guy and nothing is too much trouble for him. Lovely seeing him again. The accommodation is super comfortable, perfectly positioned within plaka and outstanding value for money. Plaka is a relaxed hamlet with only a handful of traditional tavernas (all offering outstanding food), a few shops and a nice beach with plenty sunloungers. Everything is a stones throw from this accomodation. For a relaxing break away from hustle and bustle look no further than Emmanouil's Athina Villas! Although the cafe at the front wasn't yet open during our stay as we stayed "preseason", I can confirm from our last visit it's a lovely spot to sit in the shade and have a drink or two (it opens 1st May FYI). Can't recommend this location enough... we'll be back.

Perfect setting, surrounded by brilliant Restaurants and the spectacular sighting of Spinalonga directly in our view. Dedicated Host was most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.for him. Highly recommended

Nothing. It was perfect for our 1 night stay in Plaka.

Location was perfect. Balcony view exceeded expectations. Host very helpful and kind and food we ordered in the evening and for breakfast was great.

Amazing location in the small historical village of Plaka, right across Spinalonga - The Island. The owner was really friendly and helpful. Terrific value for money. Clean apartment with everything you’ll need for your stay at such a special place. Couldn’t recommend more!

Leaving is hard!

Convenient location, quiet, spacious, equipped, lovely staff, great view. We were taken care of daily and it felt like a home away from home. Plaka is also one of our most favorite beaches in Crete. Thank you to our host Manolis who is a pleasure to get to know. The little cafe in front is a nice space for breakfast and lunch or to work in shade or sun. You can walk everywhere or drive or take the bus to nearby Elounda or Agios Nikolaos. It is often very windy but the beach is protected from the wind so it is never choppy. You can slip out of bed and stroll down to the beach anytime. We stayed for two weeks and had everything we needed. If it is not there, just ask and you shall have it.

We needed more storage and hooks to hang jackets . Nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom.

Charming host , comfortable bed, good WiFi and efficient air-con . Manolis , the host ,runs the associated café where we had an excellent breakfast and lunch . Free parking nearby . Short walk to Spinalonga boat trips . 200 metres to Plaka beach which has the clearest water. Thoroughly recommend “Maria’s “ restaurant to eat at .

The only thing we didn't like was the grubby chopping board which needs replacing.

The location was ideal for tavernas, supermarkets and access to the sea. The room was small but clean. Cooking facilities were limited but plenty of eating places. Manolis was a friendly host and made you feel welcome and that made for a relaxing few days. The shady tree by his cafe was a joy to sit under.

Great service!! Lovely host, takes care for anything!! Great breakfast includes eggs bread salad pancakes coffee juice. The room is big and very clean. We will come back for sure!

Nothing except were were only there for three nights. We would like to have stayed slightly longer if our itinery had allowed it.

Very touristic and spoiled by so called “luxury villa’s” in the area. Only inland the real Crete starts. Cooking not really possible without much kitchen tools and one hot plate.

Super friendly host 😀 Good location for a swim and lunch or visit Spinalonga. Lots of tourists but still free parking.

bathroom has some improvement potential

Apartment has a great location close to the Plaka beach and Spinalonga Island and many taverns and supermarket. The owner is very nice and helpful, we enjoyed the tasty breakfast!
