Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

RussiaLoved my stay at Quinta. The facility is very clean and cozy. And its vintage style is lovely! It's located in a very nice area - walking distance to the major sightseeings and Lycabettus Mount. Many bars and cafes around the corner, yet the hostel itself is super quiet. The breakfast is basic (eggs, toasts, yogurt, milk), but it's good enough for the morning, especially for this price. Would defo stay there again.

ItalyWe got the bedroom at the first floor, facing on the street. Therefore we couldn't open the window and had no sunlight. Moreover at night sometimes it became very loud. I think they could have given that room to someone who stayed shorter than 4 days instead. The was very simple, just bread, yogurt, eggs to cook yourself... I am not bothered because it was all that I expected for that price but it's just not the breakfast I want to do when I am on vacation so we didn't have it.
The staff is very kind and accommodating. The place is lovely.

FranceThe staff was not good with any recommendations of places to go (café, bars) nor with public transportation.... The kitchen is a bit small. The air conditioning is cut at the warmest time of the day, so you cannot take a nap.. Like every big city hostel many people are there just to party so not so easy to sleep
The decoration is very cute, nice outdoors, there's a bus stop right by the hostel. The breakfast is ok.

AustriaI like how the place looks and I love the furniture. The vibe is so nice and friendly and the staff is so helpful. I checked out at 11:00 and later in the evening after a nice exploring day, I came back to pick my backpack and I could take a quick shower, they gave me towels. And I really appreciate this. It was my first experience in a hostel and I will definitely come back! The location is very nice and the neighborhood has a lot of bars you can pick from.
