Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe location is right smack in central of Ermou area. Walking distance to metro stations, Syntagma Square, Acropolis, Plaka, Monastiraki Square, shopping & eating places and easily accessible to many other touristy places. In a nutshell, it is at a perfect location where you do not have to spend so much time taking public transportation to/from popular touristic places as these are all within walking distance. We stayed in Deluxe Family Room, and whilst the sofa bed is not fully comfortable to sleep on, the room space itself is sufficient/manageable for a family of 3. Room decor has minimalist modern design and pleasing to the eyes. Special mention to Denitsa and Eva for their always warm and friendly welcome, as well as their assistance throughout our stay. Indeed a place to return to if we are back in Athens.

SwitzerlandIn the morning we could hear the other guests leaving their rooms and housekeeping cleaning up in the hallway, this woke us up. Before leaving we checked ourselves the sound insulation - from outside the room you don't hear very much from inside the room, but from inside the room you can hear what's in the hallway fairly clearly.
Great location, very nice reception, hotel is very clean and quite modern bathrooms & rooms

United StatesThe very hot weather of August 😄
Stayed in the Presidential Suite, top floor. I loved having our own long balcony with patio furniture. I also loved the hotel restaurant. The food was very large portions and the staff were kind. The hotel staff was so kind and generous and went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The location is at the square of Athens and surrounded by shops and restaurants in every direction. I felt safe walking around the neighborhood and love the area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

IsraelThe elevator is really small but I guess that’s one of the things to expect in a small hotel at the heart of the city. Traveling with my daughter it was cosy and funny, I assume traveling in a bigger group or being disabled who requires extra mobility accessories it will make the stay a bit more difficult.
Prime location is an understatement, the room was clean and perfectly sized (not too big but not too small for two people), the staff was amazingly kind and helpful and the restaurant was perfect, we found ourselves eating there more meals other than breakfast because it was just that good. Everything was just effortlessly good - from late check in to city tips to special requests.

United StatesN/A ! we loved everything about Athenian Foss
Location location location !!! Athenian Foss is located right in the middle of it all: restaurants, bars, shopping, landmarks, and right in between of two major train / metro stations (Monastiraki and Syntagma). Hotel was maintained really well along with its restaurant downstairs, the Greco's Project. The room size is above average than most European hotel rooms and the bathroom / shower was amazing ! Big and clean with great amenities. The pictures on Booking.com of this hotel is 100% precise which depicts the actual hotel and its rooms. Breakfast was beyond amazing with so many choices to chose from. Lastly, what a superb customer service ! all the staffs were amazing both friendly and professional. Highly recommend Athenian Foss for a great stay in Athens.

Belgiumthis is really minor and should not deter you from staying there, but there's a weird light inside the wardrobe that is impossible to turn off. Ours continued on even after we removed the card/key from the plug, which should turn all lights off. Luckily it is inside the wardrobe, so it was not so bad to sleep after we closed the wardrobe's door, but I recommend bringing an eye cover if you are very sensitive to light Also, the door to the bathroom is a bit transparent and does not isolate very well, so it's not ideal if you're travelling with someone you don't have a lot of intimacy with
very quiet room, great for sleeping, even if it is in abusy area excellent shower and comfortable bed location is perfect for tiourists, in a safe area and close to bars, rstaurants and an easy walk to the main attarctions

Estonia-
We stayed 2 nights in Athenian Foss and it was really nice hotel in a perfect location. We had an early morning flight to Athens, so we dropped our luggage to hotel and went sightseeing. Everything is so near, you can walk to every historical place, it’s only 15 minutes walking to Acropolis. In reception there was very nice and friendly girl Eva, she gave very good suggestions where to eat, where and how to go and it was so nice chatting with her. All the best greetings to her, very valuable employee! Our room was suite on 5th floor and it was nice, clean, with comfy bed, big bathroom and with quite big balcony. On the balcony were sunshades that you can open if the sun gets too hot, good place to have a glass of wine at the end of day, watch people down on the streets and hear the church bells. We definitely choose Athenian Foss for our hotel, when coming to Athens next time!
