Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryTerrible location - unfortunately this area of Athens is not like the tourist areas. Run down buildings, unfriendly environment. The room was barely ok, very minimalistic. Hotel safe is unsafe, do not use (opens with your code AND always opens with a trivial constant code) Wifi is hectic, sometimes super, sometimes almost stalls.
Okay breakfast, friendly staff. Good for short visits.

United KingdomThe staff were very very friendly and very helpful. The owner called the bus company and helped us arrange our ongoing going travel. Arranged taxis and generally looked after us. The rooms had excellent air con and were very comfortable. Excellent value for money

United KingdomWhen I arrived, there were no toiletries, although they were replaced the next morning. Additionally the walls and ceilings are very thin, and I was on the first floor above the dining room, so was woken very early by breakfast prep. İt's a good place, value for money-wise but I wasn't very well rested as a result of the noise in the early morning.
The location is great, really near cool places in Exarchia, 15 minutes away from other cool places in Psyrri and Monastiraki. Great breakfast, welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable bed.

United StatesDefinitely not an easy neighborhood/ low rate considering the season but definitely not a safe area to walk around or hang out. You gotta walk at least 20 minutes to get in a more friendly touristic area.

United StatesThe bathroom was connected into the main room with no door, which was mostly fine since there was a door to the toilet. The downside was that there was no shower door or shower curtain, so it’s awkward when traveling with friends. Highly recommend adding a curtain or a door.
The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was incredibly helpful. Lots of space for four people.

CyprusAfter midnight the front entrance is locked and the security guard must be rang to let guests in. We found this a little inconvenient. Borderline dodgy location.

LatviaThe hotel is declared as "four stars" and therefore an unpleasant surprise was the problems with the plumbing in the room - the shower was flowing from all sides. They offered to change the room, but in our situation it was inconvenient, stayed in the hotel only for two nights. When cleaning the room, for some reason, the number of towels was halved, I had to ask at the reception. And breakfast anywhere around will be better than offered in the hotel
Spacious room and stylish hotel design, comfortable bed. Close to the historic centre

IrelandThe location is handy for a 10 minute walk to all the tourist spots. However, it is a 10 minute walk through marnis, one of athens most derelict areas surrounded by heroin junkies often using or recently used in front of you, prostitutes on every corner both day and night and just a lot of dodgey loitering. Considering you have to get a taxi straight to your hotel door after 7pm or so to ensure safety I could recommend they reduce the nightly cost by 10-15%.
Friendly and helpful staff at front desk, modern minimalist style which was nice. Spacious room and clothing storage.

United KingdomThe location was a little rough. The neighbourhood was dirty and heroin junkies sat on the side of the street, using in front of everyone. Also there was no soap or shower gel/shampoo. The beds were a little firm. We only had one pillow each. One of the beds mattresses was slightly too big for the bed. The pool was quite small and before we got in we had to fish out dead insects, clumps of hair, leaves etc. The water didn't feel clean.
There was nothing massively wrong. A standard hotel but a couple drawbacks. The staff were nice and welcoming. It was a 15 minute walk to the start of the main attractions. The room was quite big. There was a pool which was a bonus. We had a smart TV with YouTube, Netflix which was good.
