Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

NetherlandsUnfortunately there are some issues that prevent us from giving a higher rate: the drain in the bathroom smells and insects come out. The WiFi is weak because of the weak router signal. Greek beds that do not sleep soft and new pans in the kitchen needed.
Wonderful big modern house with enormous terrace next to the deep blue sea with everyday cleaning and washing machine. Flexible check-in/out. Shops and restaurants nearby. Cheap stay!

IrelandIf we could stay for 3 weeks!
It was the ideal villa for us with three teenagers and 2 adults as we had plenty of space inside and outside for everyone to relax. The beach is 2 minutes walk and is crystal clear with amazing fish once you swim out a little bit. The kitchen was great with a good size fridge/freezer and oven. We had lunch at home nearly every day sitting outside in the beautiful seated area looking at the sea. The villa was cleaned every day by a beautiful kind lady who made sure everything was spotless inside & outside. Our host was very friendly & welcoming. The area is beautiful as it is quiet but near everything you need as all the nearby restaurants were great. The sunrise walks were great to wake up to.

United KingdomWe couldn't use the hot water for one day but it was fixed when we got hold of the host. We think the kitchen would benefit from a few more utensils. The wifi was a bit wonky when used from the bedrooms or the patio. It works better in the living room.
Great location, the host was superb, very attentive. Good value for money. Cute cats around. There's a cleaning lady that cleans every day, she's super friendly.
