The location is perfect: close to Chora but yet removed from any bustle etc associated with a popular village. We appreciated the friendly, efficient and helpful ethos in Ampelos - hands on but never intrusive! The husband and wife managers, Theo and Areti, communicated well and provided an excellent introduction to Folegandros (restaurants, excursions etc). Furthermore, the set up - comprising a small pool surrounded by individual rooms on two floors is tasteful and conducive to providing a feeling of friendliness and a sense of community. Theo is an able and resourceful guy with excellent English skills. We particularly appreciated his assistance in tracking down a replacement camera battery charger ( we had left the original at home!) and having it sent to 'meet up' with us on Naxos. The courtesy pick up and drop off at the port was greatly appreciated.

Crowing roosters in the morning but ear plugs took care of that issue.

Theo was an outstanding host. Pool and garden areas were well maintained for relaxing. Room was large and a great view of Chora and the church on the hill. Short walk to town with restaurants and shops. Breakfast offered for small fee. Port transfers were included which was a plus.

Great location with only a short walk to Chora. Theo the host was super helpful and picked us up from the port. Chora is a great base for the island with a stunning old town, great walks and buses to varying parts of the island. Accommodation is a series of small character "houses" around a great pool. Totally recommend this as a great place to stay when exploring this beautiful island. A refreshing alternative to the hustle and expense of Santorini.

Theo (the owner) is an exceptional host and he even picked us up at the port, although our ferry was heavily delayed. In addition, we were allowed to stay a couple of hours longer in our apartment than the regular check-out. Highly recommend!

What an amazing hotel! One of the best I've ever stayed in... the hosts were very accommodating and kind, the view was beautiful, the room was perfect and very clean, we felt very comfortable here. Ampelos exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend!

Nothing major, minor observation shower pressure was a little low.

The location and view of the Hora were great. Great reasonably priced breakfast available, and in particular, the owners were outstanding snd always available for consultation.

It was sooo clean, comfortable. Short walk to the Chora with shops & tavernas. The property had a beautiful pool with view to Chora & the church. The rooms surrounded the pool & felt like a small village. It gave everyone an opportunity to get to know people staying there from different parts of the world. Theo & Areti were wonderful hosts & nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again in a heartbeat. 😊

The only little thing is the shower area like a wet room so can be a bit slippery so had to be careful. But that’s it we loved it at Ampelos

Great stay at Ampelos with Theo and his wife. The place is much more beautiful than pictures show and it was great value for money. The view from the hotel is exceptional. Theo loves the solans and that shows in his passion for telling us about it. He was always on hand to help us with any questions we had or give us a lift if he could. Would love to go back.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Staying at Ampelos was the highlight of our whole trip in Greece. Theo and his wife were just beautiful people. Truly kind and helpful and it made our trip so special. The accommodation is incredible, beautiful pool overlooking stunning Folegandros and the view of the church. Rooms were clean, spacious and lovely. Theo recommended restaurants for us to try local cuisine, as well as great beach spots. Would recommend this place to everyone!! One of the best experiences ever. We felt so at home and relaxed everyday. Folegandros was by far our favourite island that we visited! Thanks :)

Great location, close to town but with a view of the church. Gorgeous outdoor area that felt very homely. Very handy to all amenities. The thing that made it was Theo and his wife, they were fantastic hosts, and gave us very good tips about the food in town and what we should see on the island. Folegandros food has been the best we have had yet. loved every minute.

The fact that it rained the three days I was here. But that's mother nature for you. The local wine maker told me it was a miracle 😁 he loved it 🤣🤣

Everything about Ampelos was wonderful. Theo and his wife were so helpful. Breakfast was lovely. It was raining the time I was there, I only had summer clothes Theo's wife loan me her rain coat. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Our stay at Ampelos was exceptional. The spotless rooms, the gardens, the view of Chora and overall appearance of the hotel are excellent. The port transfer was very much appreciated. The breakfast was superb with the freshest bread, yogurt and eggs. What makes Ampelos exceptional are the hosts Areti and Theo, they make you feel very welcome and genuinely care you are have a good time at the hotel and on the beautiful island of Folegandros. It feels like you are visiting friends.
