Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf you're not in great shape, or don't have a car/scooter, it's about a 10min walk into town on a country road without sidewalks. Not bad at all just something you might want to be aware of.
The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful with recommendations. We were treated like family. The room was clean and comfy and wasn't boring or typical "hotel" feeling. The view is incredible and the location is overall very quiet and private.

GermanyIt is one of the most beautiful places I have been staying. The level of detail is breathtaking as the installations, the interior design as well as the welcoming presents such as the wine and marmalade all are made by Roberto and Kiriaki themselves. But not only the accommodation is a preciously elaborated place, even more so the hearty treatment of the two let you feel arrived and enjoy the time. Recommend the place so much as a beautiful experience! Looking forward to come back in the close future and seeing the place grow. All the best to you!

FranceWe rarely write any comment, but here, any comment won’t be enough to express how incredible our stay was at Aliori Cave!!! Roberto and Dominique are so wonderful, welcoming people and of very good advice on what to do on the island. They created a beautiful ecosystem where it is so pleasant to spend time. It is such a special and well designed place! Thanks again my friends!! We hope to come back soon! Paul & Capucine

The owners Kyriaki and Roberto were exceptional hosts. Such great attention to every detail. Roberto even fixed our broken suitcase handle and Kyriaki offered us cakes and fruit and more, re-filling the bowl every day! My husband found the plunge tub very soothing to cool down after energetic hikes in the mountains, specially after returning from Stavros Chapel.

United KingdomWe wouldn’t change anything!
We had a fantastic stay at Allori Art Caves and would highly recommend it to others. We would love to return one day! The rooms are beautifully designed by Roberto and have been really thought through. It was also spotlessly clean. Roberto and Kyriaki wonderful hosts. They very kindly provided us with breakfast and little sweet treats throughout our stay as well as a fantastic home-made digestive. They also gave us excellent recommendation of restaurants and bars in town and things to do in the local area and struck a perfect balance between being friendly and welcoming and leaving us to relax on our stay. The little swimming pool is a great way to cool off whilst admiring the fantastic garden and view. it’s a really peaceful spot and we’d love to return. Thank you Roberto and Kyriaki for a lovely stay.

United StatesWe loved everything about our stay. It was peaceful, fun, and very relaxing.
The Aliori Art Caves is an exceptional experience. This boutique hotel offers visitors an experience that is rare--a stay created and crafted by hand by hosts Roberto the artist and his lovely and kind wife Kyraki. Everything about this space--from the understated exterior that blends into the surrounding area, to the beautiful, whitewashed, interior "caves" (with arched ceilings and blue tinted skylights) captures the spirit and life that is Amorgos. Every piece inside--the dishes, the espresso machine, the furnishings, and the exceptional rooftop and front porch gardens have been selected with such care and each piece resonates with the spirit of the Cyclades and its beautiful colors and architecture. Our hosts could not have been any more generous and kind. They are lovely, interesting, and warm people who have created a magical place. It was within easy distance to town and trail number 4 runs just beneath the property, so it's a wonderful walk to Tholaria and beyond to Langada. We saw wonderful birds, butterflies, and tiny lizards, and even had a preview of Roberto's studio and his joyous art and sculptures. And, yes, there are small pools on some of the porches--ours was arched and had a lovely dome that echoed the interior and was beautifully lit. It is clear that this couple reveres Amorgos and want their guests to experience this place through and through . We were grateful for all of the spot-on recommendations from dining to car rentals. Highly recommended.

United KingdomNot a thing - would not change anything,
A magical place to stay in every way. Roberto and Kyriaki could not have been more charming hosts. The warmest welcome - always there to advise on places to visit and even surprised us with homemade Greek cakes for breakfast. The accommodation was stunning - well thought out with the intention of making it as good as possible for guests - amazing beds, lots of space, beautiful views and incredible artwork.. It was close to the town and beach. We will definitely be back.

AustraliaThe bedroom was on a mezzanine floor. It was not possible for one person to go downstairs during the night and not wake the other person up as the stairs creaked so much. We would have liked things like a chopping board and knife in the kitchen, especially as breakfast isn't provided. People with mobility issues might struggle with the rustic stairs to the bedroom.
The room was amazing. Many features were hand made by one of the owners (I loved the light fittings Roberto!). There were lots of loving details, it was spotlessly clean and very quiet. The view from the apartment was spectacular - you could see the sea plus the striking bare hills and the whitewashed villages scattered on them. We loved the fact that the location was about 1.5kms from the centre of town as it was a lovely walk, however this might not suit everyone. The owners were very helpful.

SwitzerlandAbsolutely nothing!
It's very hard to describe how amazing our experience was in this wonderful place. Starting from the day we arrived and the very nice and warm welcome that we received from the owners, to the day we left when they even gave us a very nice gift painted by Roberto himself as a memory of Amorgos and their place. The place is amazing, the view from the balconies are perfect, you can see the village on one side and the sea on the other side, which, especially at night, is wonderful. We had days in which we didn't want to leave the room because it was so calm and relaxed that we didn't want to leave. We were staying in the room called Elia and it was amazing, you have a small swimming pool where you can relax, the room is huge, with a small kitchen, smart TV and even 2 bathrooms. Roberto and his wife did a great job, paying attention to every small detail which makes it unique. Everything was built by them and it's amazing to see how they built these rooms in the mountain. We will come back for sure!

SwitzerlandA unique and stunning place made with love by the owners. They carefully made and crafted everything by themselves. A lot of attention has been put into the decoration and each and every detail which makes this place so unique. A lot of extras are offered in your room to enjoy your stay: local wine, blended coffee, snacks, amenities, that were much appreciated. Great view in a quiet area and close to the beach and village.
