It was beautiful as it was very old but well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms very modern and up to date. The property was very clean. And the location was perfect!

There was nothing I did not like about the property. It was the best.

Everything about the property was beautiful- its old world charm, the way old and new world had been combined for maximum comfort. The location couldn’t have been better and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had the best holiday at Alcanea in Chania, Eva and team were so friendly, we had the best room with the most amazing view of the lighthouse! The breakfast every day was sublime. We could sit out all day and watch the view from the hotel cafe! We asked the hotel staff to arrange our taxi transfers to and from the airport for us. No issues whatsoever, it was the easiest journey without stress and fairly cheap! Thanks so much for making it a wonderful experience!

Room was very spacious , breakfast was excellent. The hotel is situated in the perfect spot to walk everywhere in the old town.All of these things are worth going staying here for, but the best thing about our stay in the Alcanea was Eva, who is so welcoming and helpful, the best advertisement for the hotel. We would love to come back

Eleni and Eva were terrific - accessible and helpful. The hotel is in a gorgeous old castles with beautiful sea views. Location is wonderful for exploring the old town of Chania.

Loved the location. Manager was super-helpful (Eva) and went above-and-beyond our expectations in arranging transportation and tours. Even left signs pointing us to our room since we had a late arrival!!

We loved the property but would be mindful that it’s an old building with lots of steps and no lift .

Always be aware that the Old Harbour thrums with life at night, especially at the weekend. A room at the front is incredible in terms of view, but you need to be a very sound sleeper! I love to fall asleep to the sounds of Chania having a good time, so .....

The hotel is a really beautiful old building which has been very carefully updated and is furnished to reflect the style and period when it was built, yet offering every modern convenience. It is right on the old harbour with exceptional views of the sea and the ancient lighthouse, close to shops and restaurants but still quiet as it’s right at the end of the seafront

We had an amazing stay at Alcanea. Eva's welcome was very friendly, and the historical room with the view on the lighthouse was fabulous, very well-equipped, and comfortable. Breakfast in the downstairs café was tasty. Definitely one of the most charming places we have stayed at.

Many stairs to access our room, three flights with the top two being very narrow at foot. I’m not sure if I missed it in the description, but I wasn’t aware. If I’d have shown up with my parents who we frequently travel with, they’d been unable to stay as they could never do those stairs, so just make note. Additionally, as we stayed only one night it was not worth it to bring all our luggage up I wish I’d have left it and brought only what we needed for just the night. Additionally, our shower was the only disappointing part of our stay. Bathroom is very nice, but we had been traveling long and really looked forward to a nice shower and there was very, very little pressure and it did not get above a lukewarm temperature.

Perfect location. I don’t think you could ask for a better location as it is still close to everything yet not too far from parking that you’re lugging your luggage though busy streets. Right near the water with a perfect patio for enjoying the views. Room and home were unique and comfortable. Fairly priced for stay which seems nearly impossible to find anymore and included a lovely breakfast. We wished we’d have stayed one more night.
