Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was a little small as well as the balcony but the view was spectacular. The air conditioner wasn’t as effective as we are used to in the US but I had brought a small fan for that reason.
The location, and breakfast were great. The room view of the acropolis was stunning, especially at night. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

United KingdomQuite expensive for the standard of decor inside the rooms, they are a little tired and could do with refreshing/ a more modern look BUT the bathroom was fab and they didn't lack amenities, just the bedroom area itself needed freshening up.
The location was amazing, at the foot of the Acropolis and in the centre of everything you'll need in Athens, great restaurants/atmosphere, everything is on your doorstep. Added to that is the view of the Acropolis from the breakfast rooftop veranda which made our stay!

United KingdomDifficult to say , as the hotel is quite old and the rooms are definitely dated, probably not changed in terms of furnishings since the 70’s yet I found it charming and more appealing than some Hotels that are modern but unstylish . We were two female friends , not a couple and requested twin beds , not always an easy request these days . The beds were together and difficult to separate properly because of the bedside tables but we managed to move them apart a few inches . My socket was missing but there was another one I could use, so not a big issue . Kettle , fridge and all the necessity’s were perfectly adequate and nice that we could drink the tap water and really appreciated the ice machine on floor 1 . I wish people didn’t smoke in the corridor , a bit off putting .
Lovely breakfast , good choices on offer including freshly squeezed orange juice . Coffee average but plentiful . Best thing about breakfast was the wonderful roof terrace with attractive plants and fabulous views across Athens . A very relaxing ambient area to enjoy and spend some time before our journey to the airport . The hotel was very well located for everything we wanted , historical sites , restaurants shops and bars . The cathedral was also really close and everything within a few minutes wall including the metro station . Rooms comfortable , and spotlessly clean with comfy beds and nice sheets . Bathroom modern with quality fittings and excellent shower . Nice quality complimentary products are included . Kettle , tea coffee, fridge all perfectly adequate . Appreciated the ice machine so we could have plenty of cold tap water to drink .

AustraliaNothing really, pillows are not great very flat and only 1 extra provided.
This was the third stay for me. I love the location right in the centre of the old Plaka/Monastiraki area of Athens. You can walk to all the sites, Acropolis, Agora, Acropolis museum, Syntagma square and more. Located close to numerous restaurants, cafes and shops and a short walk to Monastiraki Metro station. Great staff, nice breakfast on the open roof terrace (summer) looking over to the Acropolis. We had a twin room which was comfortable and a good size.

United StatesThe pillows were too small and flat, but just ask for 2 pillows.
A lovely breakfast is served on the roof from 7 - 10 a.m. Location is steps away from the metro, the acropolis, the agora, and the Roman quarter.
