Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHotel was great value for money and in a great location just next to the port and bus stop. Jessica was great, taking the time to explain her recommendations while visiting the island upon check in. Room spacious and clean with great balcony overlooking the port.

NorwayMy only complaint is that the beds are a bit hard and the pillows like stones.
Perfect location with the port, buses, and restaurants outside the door. Easy bus transport or stairs to the main town. Perfect balcony with sea view. Nice room, good wifi, great recommendations from the receptionist. Nice bathroom and good new AC. Everything we needed :)

Superb location, one min from the ferry port. To get to other part of the island (village center, beach) you can get a bus which is directly outside of the hotel. Excellent service and nice room. Our room had a large balcony with sea view.

United KingdomNothing.
Clean, modern room. Lots of storage. Balcony overlooking the harbour and square, which was busy until the early hours, but you couldn’t hear a thing once the doors were closed. Within a two minute walk from the hotel, you could find lovely places to eat. The lovely beach was just a ten minute walk. Ideally situated.

AustraliaOnly negative was it can be a bit loud hearing people in corridor but that was no deal breaker.
We loved staying here. The rooms were very clean and well furnished and the shower pressure and size was amazing. The location was great. Close to so many restaurants and also a regular buses to the different areas in Ios. Also such a short walk to the really nice beach! I would definitely stay here again!

AustraliaWalls were quite thin so you could hear neighbours or people coming in and out of the hallways especially when people came back from a night out.
Rooms were quite cozy and bathroom was a little on the small side but we made it work. Great location by the port so easy to walk to after you’ve just gotten off the ferry. There’s also a bus stop right behind it that comes every 30 minutes or so from 8AM - 12AM - takes you to Chora and Mylopotas Beach (FarOut beach club) and does multiple stops in between - probably the best and cheapest (2 euros - only accepts cash) way to get around! There are a lot of great food options by the property as well as ATMs, supermarket and a beach just a short walk from the port. Rooms were always cleaned everyday with a new set of towels and staff were lovely!

AustraliaNothing! We loved it
Acteon hotel is a very modern and neat place to stay. It located right near the port so very easy access to walk to. We found the location perfect for our group, close to the beach and only a 10-15 minute drive to the main city centre or 20 minutes to the popular beaches and beach clubs. Acteon have available transfers at the hotel that were easy to book and very convenient when needing to go somewhere. Once leaving the clubs / restaurants there are steps down to the hotel which was a blessing when trying to get home.

AustraliaAt no fault of the hotel, there was a group of guests that were very loud & disruptive through the night. Roomed booked was sea view when really all you could see was a road and the port if you stretched you neck.
Hotel was conveniently close to the port & bus stop, easily able to walk or get a bus to chora. Rooms were tidy & moderately sized for 2 people. Would reccomend for anyone seeking a nice place out of the centre of ios. Overall good hotel would visit again.

Fantastic view of the port, simple but spacious room and a great balcony. Despina has welcomed us with a very kind smile and everything went smoothly. The hotel is right by the port and very easy to find. Windows and doors are air-sealed which blocked all the noise from outside.

United KingdomOur room was very different from the pictures. the room was old and quite outdated and the bathroom, whilst clean, has old showers etc so wasn't great. our balcony was very small so not really a place to sit out as its tight on space but i saw others that were much bigger so I think that was just us.
Its a lovely, family run place that is exceptionally clean. The rooms are small as are the bathrooms. The room was very different to what I was expecting, although I heard from other guests that half of the hotel has been renovated and updated, so I think we were in a older room. After looking out of our balcony, we also had one of the smaller ones - i wouldn't really say it was usable to be honest, but if you were on a balcony below, you would have had plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the sunset. The location was great, right by the port and near some of the nicer restaurants. the staff were lovely and very helpful, and the access is great as you get your own entrance so don't have to go through the shop. I would stay again but would make sure we were in one of the newer rooms!

GreeceWe booked 2 rooms, the one was pretty cool but the other one had very bad sound proofing so my colleagues would listen to every bit of noise and conversation from the room next door. Other than that everything was good!
The stuff was very nice and helpful, the location is great right in the center of the port and the rooms were clean with nice beds and a nice view from the window. Great value for money as well.
