Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaOur check in was delayed by over an hour due to the room not being ready on time. It also looks like parts of the hotel are undergoing renovations, so some part of our room was not in a great condition (e.g., the frame of the door was disassembled, meaning the door couldn't fully close).
The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The hotel is greatly situated at a short walking distance way from all the main tourist attractions, the old city, and the Acropolis.

United StatesCentral location. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Close to Acropolis Very accommodating. We got there early (from a cruise) and our room was ready at 12 noon instead of 3pm like it was requested.

United StatesThe room was very expensive, but it's not good for women traveling alone. The door did not have a chain lock or any extra lock on it to secure once you are in the room. The front desk is not available 24/7 and I heard loud people and banging on the outside door. I did not feel safe in this hotel.
The location is good. The hotel room was very clean. Everything is new and modern. The shower is big. The bed was comfortable. There was a refrigerator and a safe in the room.

EgyptThe windows were not sound proof and my room was facing the main street, so I struggled to sleep. Also, I had ants in my room...

FranceThe initial first impression of the hallway and reception desk at the end was a bit worrying, but it’s a city hotel so the lack of space is to be expected.
We had a lovely one-night stay at AboV Athens! The bed was large, the bathroom was big and recently renovated. As a larger guy, I normally have many complaints about shower sizes/water pressure but, I can’t fault it! George at reception was very friendly and had excellent suggestions for dining. His colleague (to whom we were not introduced) ran up 7 flights of stairs to close the door on the elevator that wouldn’t descend for us. The view of the Acropolis from our room was good, but not great to say we paid a fair bit extra for it, but it was still pretty cool. The neighborhood was hip and busy so there was plenty to do and see.

United StatesWish the glass shower wall was a bit longer to keep water from splashing out into the room.
This was just what we hoped to find, a clean comfortable room at a fair price right in the middle of Athens. The staff was friendly and helpful, even storing our luggage for several hours until our room was ready. The location is hard to beat, with restaurants and shopping right outside your door, several historic squares nearby, and the Acropolis less than 20 minutes' walk away.

IsraelRoom cleanliness is something to improve. The room wasn't cleaned throughout our 4-night stay (except making up the bed). I would expect at least cleaning the bathroom and washing/replacing drinking glasses.
The hotel is in prime location - as good as it gets. The room was quite small with ackward layout, but cozy and convinient. The lack of breakfast is not an issue, as there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Hotel staff are kind and helpful.

United KingdomWe asked for another card for the room, but unfortunately, it wasn't given to us even though the staff said they would prepare it since they didn't have an extra one. Also, during our stay, we had allergies that made us cough more, which might have been made worse by something in the room.
Amazing location. The room was spacious and cozy, with sleek, modern furniture. The fast WiFi, Smart TV, and USB wall plugs were fantastic additions.

ItalyReception is a small desk at the end of the entrance corridor, not many facilities.
Receptionists have been very kind, punctual and practical. We arrived after midnight so they provided us with the main door code via mail and left the room card for us at the desk. The room was nice, clean and well furnished. The hotel is in the very centre of Athens surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafè and all the city's main attractions.

BulgariaSince you're smack dab in the middle of the busiest area, it can get noisy at night. If you're a light sleeper, keepp this in mind. If you're like me, you probably won't have a lot of problems going to sleep.
The place is great and the staff is friendly. It's great value for money, especially if you want to stay right in the center. It's nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable.
