Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The room was very clean, cosy and I felt very safe and supported within the environment. Loved the comfy bed, pillows and blackout blinds. The housekeeping is excellent, the domestic staff ensured that the room was tidied to a very high standard. Lastly the cafe, has a wide selection of goodies and all the staff are courteous and polite. Likewise, they informed me about foods that may contain nuts, gluten and mushrooms,

United StatesThe elevator was broken when we first arrived and had to carry our bags to the 5th floor. Pillows were very flat. TV did not work well and did not stay on for longer than 2 minutes before resetting.
Check-in was a smooth process and front desk staff was very kind. Offered an upgrade at a pro-rated fee which was nice and offered a better view of the city with a larger room. The location is also perfect for access to busses, the tube, and walking to many attractions.

United KingdomThe room was... let's charitably call it compact; don't aim to bring much more luggage than a backpack unless you want to be tripping over it constantly. It also got very very warm with 2 people occupying the room. The shower leaked terribly and flooded into the main room. Steps up to the second bed were not much fun to navigate and there are additional steps between the lift and the rooms which we weren't warned about. Cafe staff were abrasive and told us off for buying breakfast at reception when we were offered it, not at the café itself.
Location in central London is excellent for theatre, museums and shopping; it's this you're clearly paying a premium for. Room was very clean and the beds themselves were large and comfy. Tuesday night cheese was lovely. Hotel staff were very accommodating and responsive.

I liked how clean it was and it was very convenient for the purpose of my stay in London. I liked that the staff were nice and welcoming as well. It's also very quiet considering the area seemed like a pretty busy area. I slept well couldn't hear all the outside chaos😊

The bed was not very comfortable and the lift was broken which was difficult as I have mobility issues although staff did offer to carry my bags. My room had a window but most of the view was blocked by a stone circle at the front so i had no view.
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and professional. I was in the Royal Courts of Justice for a few days so the location was amazing. It was very clean and well maintained.
