Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesIt was a bit smaller than I had hoped for. If it had been bigger then we would have also had space for both carry ons we had (we barely did). I was with a friend and the fact that the double bed was against the wall made it a bit hard to get in/out of the bed. I also didn’t really like a transparent bathroom door.
I liked the location of this hotel. The staff were really good! I had two instances were I had to eat dinner really late because of the late-ending excursions I had during the day, so the menu offered at the lobby was really practical and tasty (I recommend the pizzas). I also liked the map of London I got off of the lobby. The elevator was a must for carrying the luggage.

United KingdomSadly the lift was out of order for our whole stay but staff said it should be fixed by the time we check out but it sadly wasn't so we needed help from staff with the luggage. The floor of the bathroom was a bit dirty and the bed was quite hard and uncomfortable.
Incredible Location! The staff were really kind to me and my sibling and upgraded us due to the lift being out of order as I struggle with stairs due to my disability! The flatscreen TV was really cool and the light switch on the wall allowed us to change the lighting and the window blinds! There was also really good air conditioning as well as a lovely walk in bathroom. There was also complimentary tea, coffee, milk, shower gel etc.

AustraliaI was expecting a small room but was still surprised how tight it was. Perfect for one night but wouldn’t like to have 4 people in a family room for any longer than that. Air conditioner leaked and as room was so small, it went all over our bags.
Fantastic location. Walkable to all major tourist attractions and only a few hundred meters from Covent Garden station.
