Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAmazing 2 night stay at Yorecroft, the room was immaculate, so clean and tidy. Breakfast on both days was delicious. The views from our room were beautiful and the hosts were so helpful and friendly. Right Next to Asysgarth Waterfalls, we really enjoyed our stay and will definately be back. Thank you

United StatesThere could have been a more convenient way to use a hair dryer. As with the other bed and breakfasts in the UK that we have stayed in, there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom to use with a hair dryer. The only outlet semi close to a mirror created an awkward situation for using the hair dryer. I think this is minor compared to all the positives about this B and B.
Yorecroft is in the perfect location for exploring the Dales with many walks right from their front door and nearby. The view from the bedroom window of the Dales countryside cannot be beat, as well as the view from the breakfast room/snug available for guests. The breakfast choices were varied and tasty! Homemade flapjacks and shortbread (the best I ever tasted!) were provided in the room along with the tea/coffee service. The room was very nicely appointed and the shower was outstanding! Jill and Jim were great hosts. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

United KingdomNothing everything was really good only down side in the area was the car parking charges at local attractions and villages. Take plenty of change.
Breakfast was excellent we pre ordered the night before all food was locally produced and nothing was a bother to the hosts Jill & James. The biscuits in our room were home made, the bedroom was tidied up each day A wonderful view out of our bedroom to the Dales We were able to park in the drive way which was a bonus

James and Jill were fabulous hosts. The location was great, had two pubs easily walkable and Jill offered us some help as to where to go explore for the weekend. The breakfast was fabulous and great that you got options so you could have something different each day, thank you for that! The room itself was great, AMAZING views. Really happy with our stay and would return!

Fabulous view of the dales from the property. Home made shortbread and flapjacks were delicious. The breakfast was huge and set us up for the rest of the day. En-suite bedroom was cleaned daily and very comfortable. This is as close to 10/10 as you are ever going to get. A definite jewel in the crown.

United KingdomWasn't able to stay longer!!!! Nearly hid so we could stay longer, fantastic B&B. Parking on drive was a bit tight but we have a big car!
The views are fantastic and location was just what we wanted. Lovely hosts, brilliant breakfast, lovely to have a sitting room as well as the bedroom. Very close to pub! And right next door to tea rooms (didn't get time to go in 🥺) will definitely try to get back to Yorecroft!

United KingdomThe only downside was that the pub in the village where we hoped to be able to have an evening meal was closed. Fortunately we were able to find excellent places quite nearby and could recommend the Street Head Inn in Newbiggin and the Wheatsheaf in Carperby, both just a short drive away.
We chose Yorecroft in the first instance because of it's location being close to locations we wanted to visit and many walks virtually from the doorstep. The hosts James and Jill looked after us really well. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Jill's homemade shortbread biscuits were extremely yummy and much appreciated on our walks. We had the use of a small sitting room downstairs where there was an extensive supply of books for walking routes and places to visit. We also sat in here for our breakfast and never tired of the view. We also made use of the Little White bus to get to Hawes and West Witton and were able to walk back over Penhill.

United KingdomNothing at all. If I wrote the 2 or 3 sentences Booking.com ask for, it would be unwarranted waffle about nowt.
We know the dales well, and have used many B&Bs and holiday cottages in the area during the last 40 years. This one stands out as having everything that makes a stay away from home enjoyable and worthwhile. Set back off the main road, the property is in a picturesque village. Our parking needs were accommodated admirably. Jill and James were welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts, and immediately made us feel at home. The lounge, available for the use of B&B guests, is a lovely room with comfortable seating. It really comes into its own when it is used in the morning as a breakfast room. The dining table (only one, because there is only one guest room) is placed to take advantage of the excellent view through the patio doors, over the property's garden, and across to the limestone escarpments on the north side of Wensleydale. Very pleasant indeed. The bedroom has a similar view through a smaller window. The room itself is spotlessly clean, well equipped with a comfy bed. The bathroom is well appointed, has a proper shower, not one of the fine mist spray sorts, and served all of our needs very well. Fresh milk is provided in a flask, home baked shortbread biscuits and flapjack were a very comforting addition. Anyone needing a base for a holiday break in the north dales would have difficulty finding better accommodation than this. Thank you Jill and James.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful, they could not have done more and were also able to help me our with some local knowledge and routes. The bed was so comfy and had a great night sleep on top of that the breakfast was very filling and tasty! I had use of the lounge area and the gardens, it was very peaceful and relaxing.
