Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SpainPoints for improvement: Water pressure in the shower with hardly any cold water option. Pillow a little thicker or higher. Only one lift in operation, at certain times there was a wait to get to the top floor.
Strengths: Quiet location with no traffic, residential area. The mattresses were very good, I never had any back pain. They have breakfast although it is not included and a small rest area with the option to have a drink.

United KingdomThe breakfast before I checked out? The girl serving didn't understand English and was on her phone etc,not very helpful Hot drinks weren't labelled so I ended up having a fruit juice,not a breakfast I would try again, cafe opposite was a lot better and friendlier.

United StatesIt was in a residential area further than I cared to be from the center of London but it was a very nice, safe neighborhood. The windows could have opened more to allow in more air. It was a little warm in the room.
Pretty much everything. It's very clean and organized, has a fully stocked shared kitchen and a living room with a tv. There's a bus stop almost right in front of the door.

TurkeyThe heater in the room wasn't working and they couldn't fix it. Some of the staff were a bit rude. The trash wasn't taken out every day and the bathroom was a bit dirty.
There is a bus stop in front and a metro nearby. There is an elevator and a shared kitchen. It is generally quiet.

ItalyThe room unfortunately had a little unpleasant smell due to the carpet probably, but apart from that it was a lovely stay.
I stayed with my family for just one night and we especially liked the position of the place. It was a just 10 minutes walk to the underground and from there just two stops to reach the O2 Arena. We appreciated the staff, they were very warm and friendly. We arrived before the check in and we had the possibility to leave our luggage at their store. We felt safe there, our room was spacious and clean.
