Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy 11 year old daughter loves her breakfast but was a little disappointed that there were no hash browns or black pudding on the menu. She did however, enjoy the salmon and scrambled eggs.
Have been there once before and wanted to go back. I was not disappointed, the standards and friendly staff continue and a peaceful location. Lovely roads to get there too.

United KingdomI can't think of anything I didn't like.
The full welsh breakfast has to be the best i have enjoyed whilst touring in Wales. The food for dinner was excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, and the shower was great. The bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size and was clean. The complementary bottled water, tea, and biscuits were replenished each day.

United KingdomY Talbot is the only establishment in Tregaron serving food which is edible. The standard is high but it was disappointing to note the menu was fixed, so an absence of daily specials. A choice of only two vegan/ vegetarian mains was limited and the portion was small. I asked the bar staff for a little flexibility in ordering my meal which was refused. That meant my second evening meal ended up being a picnic outside.
Y Talbot is full of charm and character. At the same time it offers excellent modern comfortable and quiet accommodation. The location is conveniently right in the centre of Tregaron. My purpose in visiting was to spend as much time as possible at the nearby Cors Garon Nature Reserve. The owners are very accommodating, letting guests have 24 hour access to the hotel and serving breakfast up till 10am. Both these facilities were really important for me. The staff on breakfast were charming and helpful. I like the fact that the owners are resident and actively manage the hotel

United KingdomGreat village located pub/hotel with great food, bar and friendly owners. Spot on for our little group of classic cars on tour with immediate access to great driving roads. Even locals came in to talk to us on seeing our cars - so friendly. Definitely be back when next on tour. 10/10

United KingdomThe extractor for the kitchen is loud.. but gets switched off soon after 10 pm, but that's a minor comment.
Beautiful location with hosts that were so welcoming and caring. We were arriving close to their food cut off and they rang to check if we wanted food and place an order... except we were out of Mobile signal ... that meant close by ... the thought was very much appreciated. Garden Suite room was spacious and well appointed.. one of the most comfortable beds ever... loved the wood furniture with rounded corners😉👍🏻. Lovely fresh door opening out to enjoy the view and fresh air. Food both breakfast and evening meals excellent. Great location for exploring the local beauty.

Wonderful historic coaching Inn right in the centre of beautiful Tregaron. The hotel is awash with Welsh history and also is the the apparent final resting place of a circus elephant. Spacious comfortable rooms and food of the highest quality.

NetherlandsVery central to wonderful walking country and beautiful scenery … one of the prettiest parts of Wales. Y Talbot is an old, well maintained coaching inn with good bedrooms, comfortable bar areas, a very pleasant dining room and roaring fires making the ambience very cosy indeed. The food is excellent and extremely well priced and the staff friendly, efficient and helpful - can’t be faulted!
