Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThat we don’t own it…
EVERYTHING! The place is absolutely beautiful. The furnishings are all of a high quality and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the decorating. The beds are so comfortable, we didn’t want to get up in the mornings. There’s so much attention to little details, such as cute little sheep stickers on the spare toilet rolls, blankets so the dig can sit on the sofa…There’s a folder full of information about the history of the apartment and the area, and suggestions for things to do. The location is excellent, lovely view of the little church across the road. The parking is so close by, really convenient. We’ve had a lovely couple of days.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we didn't like. Everything was lovely and cozy, just what we needed for our little book retreat.
Stayed at Wuthering Heights with my friend for a nice chilled get away. The property was amazing just what we was looking for, for our book retreat. We didnt realise until we got there that Sedbergh was an actual book town 🤩. Sedbergh is a beautiful little town with great scenery, lovely walks and great amenities. Jacky left a brilliant folder full of information about the town and the history of the property. We will definately be wanting to stay here again.

United KingdomNothing - it was all perfect!
Wuthering Heights is a beautifully presented apartment right in the heart of Sedburgh village. Great views from the large windows to see the church and churchyard across the road. Checkin instructions and information were all really clear and helpful - Jacky was very responsive. The apartment has all the amenities we could have possibly needed and was very dog friendly with a welcome pack and blankets provided for the dogs. Mattress and pillows were really comfy, and all of the soft furnishings were of an exceptionally high standard! Sedburgh was also great for walks in beautiful countryside. We will be back!

Really well equipped in a great area to give you a base for the dales. Nice little town with a few friendly pubs. We took our pet dog, property and surrounding pubs are all dog friendly. Will definitely be back.

United KingdomThis is a lovely place which you can tell has been put together with much love and attention and pride. As well as being lovely to look at, stylish and a bit quirky with its literature theme, it was lovely and warm and very comfy. The weather wasn't great which made this home's warm welcome even more inviting. The stained glass windows of the church across the road came to life at night once the lights were on inside which just added to the general loveliness of the place. Nice to stay somewhere where the cutlery and crockery doesn't feel like it has been on the cheap as an after-thought. Lovely local toiletries as well. Hoping to return with sunshine and light nights to make more of the beautiful walks on the doorstep.

United KingdomFront door opens out almost directly onto the road which has busy moments but obviously manageable - likewise no facility to park outside the property but this is made clear and the provided permit for the car park less than 100 yards away where there was always space is a good compromise.
Lovely comfortable apartment which allowed dogs. Very nicely fitted with a well equipped kitchen. Within walking distance of 3 varied pubs, nice bar (thirsty rambler), butcher, cafes on Sedberghs main street and a Spar (just under 10 minutes). Good walking either from the apartment in the howgills or close by in the car.
