Dinning room lacked something. The lack of ambience was such a shame as the food was perfect

Warm welcome. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was cooked perfectly

We had a Lovely stay , had evening meal and breakfast. Evening meal was nice , but I found menu restrictive as no chicken dish and mostly shell fish, beef or lamb. The room was nice, breakfast was good but a bit expensive.

The building looks tired but thats not surprising considering the age of the hall.

    Simply tired decor.

Excellent value for money,in this well positioned hotel. The Hall does need money spending on it, but so do many other establishments. If it did have a cash injection, this hotel would probably be one of the best situated places to stay in the North of England.

Some parts of the building have a bit of a rundown feeling. The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth and the beds could do with an upgrade.

The exterior of the building and gardens are amazing. The price was quite reasonable.

We were initially given the wrong bedroom, and when we spoke with Reception they gave us the keys of two other bedrooms to go checkout and see if we preferred one of them, bit of a joke really. In the restaurant the noise was loud and staff member was having to tell the other residents what was available, as crazily most items on the menu were not available. Bedroom had little ventilation, so not a great nights sleep. On checkout I was told that there was nothing left to pay, but honest me said we had dinner and a drink to pay for, both the person behind the reception and another member of staff both started saying, you should not have told us that, which was not professional and put a focus on me with other hotel residents looking on.

We managed to order the last two Seabass Dinners and the walk around the grounds of the Hotel was nice and well kept.

Sadly, it looks tired and a little run down. Our room was tiny, with a very small bed that had roll together and a toilet that would not flush properly. With no-one at reception on departure, despite ringing the bell, we were not able to report the faulty toilet.

Wortley Hall is situated amongst beautiful countryside and is very peaceful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and breakfast staff were very friendly.

The room we were in 27 had paper thin walls, was kept awake Saturday night by a couple next door, who were extremely noisy with their bedroom exploits. We are no prudes but all through the night and before breakfast was a little too much for anyones ears. Glad we didnt have children with us, would have been quite embarrassing.

Lovely location and beautiful gardens, good breakfast and friendly staff.
