We really enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage. It was very comfortable and well equipped. The location was great near to shops and restaurants. Also close to the many interesting places in the area.Especially Sutton Hoo and the lovely estuary footpath.

Roman Blinds. Difficult to open and close and kept settling at an angle, although host did let us know that there was a problem with them.

Location, cleanliness and quirkiness of the steep stairs and sloping bedroom floor. The steep stairs are not for the faint hearted and gave a literal meaning to "climbing the stairs". Taking up two cups of tea in the morning was an interesting challenge. The sloping bedroom floor was a fun experience, particularly after a couple of glasses of wine!

    Nothing!

So cosy and private yet close to everything in town. Perfect balance for a first-time visitor to England, as easy access to all amenities on foot. The cottage itself is beautiful and comfortable, and really well appointed.

The TV really did not work effectively (as per other reviews), but we weren't really there to watch television.

Great central location, so easy access to shops, amenities, and the river area. It was a very clean property, which was cleverly designed and equipped.

The television was a minor vexation: not easy to operate. However, I was there essentially for rest and retreat, so that was a reminder!

I liked the location at the top of the thoroughfare. It was opposite a builder's yard but in a quiet lane, and I was not troubled by noise. I really appreciate the exquisite decor: a tasteful, appropriate mix of ancient and modern, Real attention to detail. Cosy and ideal for one.

A very steep staircase (but can't be helped in a cottage of its age). The owners had helpfully put lights around the steps and handles to hold on to, they also checked with me whether the staircase would be OK before visiting.

Lovely one bed cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Would look to stay again. Very close to center of Woodbridge. Mike was very helpful at responding quickly to any questions I had. Lovely welcome packet of crisps and biscuits provided and coffee pods for the machine. The coffee was a definite bonus!

In an ideal world it would be great if the property had a downstairs toilet but it is a small cottage so can see this would be difficult to install.

Lovely little cottage beautifully renovated. Comfortable and warm. Hosts very communicative and responsive. Easy entry via a key lock box.

A beautifully refurbished little cottage - everything done to a very high standard and great for us and our dog. The location was excellent, within walking distance of shops, pubs and takeaways, not to mention the walk alongside the River Deben. Michael warned us in advance of the steep staircase and despite not being spring chickens and boasting three dodgy knees between the two of us, it was manageable.

The stairs are an issue for older and less mobile people. This was clearly stated in the details before booking. TV impossible to get ordinary tv channels.

Comfortable cottage, treats provided especially milk and teabags for first cuppa on arrival. Bed very comfortable, nice little outside space.

The parking situation was a bit worrying - although I always found somewhere to park opposite or nearby, I was never sure this would be the case. But I don’t think this would put me off staying there again.

The location and the property - equipped and decorated to a very good standard.

Stairs were an issue. . . . we were expecting steep stairs, but not quite so narrow. Our son visited on the Sunday and couldn’t get up the stairs to go to the loo. I also think that the shower door was very narrow too. There should have been some warning over the restrictions in size as we would probably not have booked. I would also say it’s not very “little” dog friendly as there were 2 stairs down to the kitchen and no real way of blocking off the stairs to upstairs. We ended up putting cushions on the bottom step to stop our miniature dachshund from climbing upstairs. The landing window also needs a blind so that the neighbours can’t see you when going to the loo in the middle of the night!

Good facilities . . . Nice to have a pint of milk available on arrival along with tea bags, coffee pods, fruit juice, crisps and biscuits.

TV was problematic - could not watch live terrestrial programmes, we particularly missed live News & Weather updates. Also ITVX & C5 were unavailable as we did not have passwords to login. Tried several times to use WIFI code without success so could not access internet. Stairs were, quite frankly, terrifying - some sort of hand rail on wall would have helped - thank goodness for lights and non-slip edging. (We are in our mid 70's so sadly not quite as agile as we once were.) As microwave was strangely placed on high shelf in a corner, I couldn't have used it safely as I am only 5ft tall and I could not reach sideways over unit tops to deal with getting hot foods out; why not place on one of the work surfaces as there's plenty of room and sockets.

Cottage was beautifully renovated with well equipped kitchen. Fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine too - great additions. Lovely, private little courtyard garden. Very clean. Great welcome box filled with goodies for humans and dogs. Beautiful bedding, fluffy towels etc. Good sized bathroom, nice shower. .

Free private parking is not available at the property. I don't think it should be described as this, I had to park on the streets nearby (it was free but not private parking) or in the car park of the adjacent business, so moved my car before 7.30 am one day, as a sign said that was when they opened (their website says they open at 7 am and they did seem to be making noise outside the window at that time). Stairs are extremely steep

Location close to the town centre is excellent. Woodbridge is great with lots to see and do. Well equipped kitchen and lovely furniture and fittings throughout the house. Very comfortable bed. Very reasonable price.
