Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOven wasn’t working so unable to cook. Second bedroom bed too small. Hall way floor really slippy and might benefit from a runner.
Beautiful cottage with good outside space and well located.

The location is very central, easy parking for one car and a car park directly behind the property for anyone else. Turn right out of the cottage and you are walking down the main street, turn left and you can walk out onto the moors. Lovely undercover seating area to the rear of the property (secure for dogs staying).

The cottage is fabulous. It is cosy, beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The cottage is very dog friendly too. The location is fantastic for visiting beautiful Haworth and the surrounding area. The village centre and all its amenities is a few steps away from the cottage. We will definitely return.

United KingdomComfier garden furniture would have been lovely but I understand from the owner this is already in hand.
It was our first trip to Haworth & we were really pleased to not only find Withens way really easily, but also discovered just how close it was to so many local amenities. The location really was perfect. The first thing we noticed were the absolutely beautiful hanging baskets hung outside the cottage, they really did look lovely. We were delighted with how cosy the cottage was & loved our evenings spent on the reclining sofa watching films. This was after a long day, taking in the sites, going for walks & taking advantage of some really lovely places to eat within walking distance of the cottage. The bath was very much appreciated & had we stayed at Withens way during the winter months would have loved to have made full use of the log burner. If you are looking for a cosy retreat Withens way is the perfect autumn getaway. During our stay the weather was beautiful, really warm & sunny & we really enjoyed the little courtyard round the back of the cottage late afternoon. Our dog Wilson also found Withens way to be the perfect little getaway & loved the dog friendly treats & loved going for lots of walks & sightseeing. I left a little piece of my heart in Haworth,it’s such a special place,in fact I’ve already booked to stay at Withens way again. There are lots of holiday cottages in Haworth but Withens way proved to be best for my little family & we felt very comfortable & relaxed. It has so much to offer & I highly recommend it.

United KingdomFew improvement ideas. Oven gloves would have been good. For a walking holiday (this trip was not) I’d hope for a washing machine. No washing up bowl in sink. Topper mattress would have made the bed more comfortable. Ice box was left open inside fridge and was frozen up completely.
Location was perfect. Parking was a big bonus. Everything was clean and simple, we had a great stay. Thank you.

United KingdomSignal on the TV is hit and miss and couldn’t pick up the Wi-Fi connection but not a major issue as we were only really in for evenings & it’s nice to switch off from the tech! If your after a bit of peace and quiet it can get busy. We were there on a hot weekend and the pubs were brimming day and night and everyone was out on their terraces etc so it was very lively! If your there for the pubs / food atmosphere , crowds etc it’s perfect and it is in a very central location but it can be a tad noisy at times.
The cottage is at the top of the high street so very quick access to shops , pubs etc , Bronte museum behind the cottage and the Moors ( Bronte Falls/ Top Withens/ and Penistone Hill which is a beautiful walk) either a 5 min drive or 20 min walk away. The surrounding areas are lovely too. I think, the location is a real selling point for this cottage as there is a lot to explore on the door step and it’s a stunning area. The cottage does have it’s own driveway for 1 car which is needed due to built up area / double yellows .A truly beautiful area with lots of history. The cottage itself is a good size, well equipped practical, comfortable and nicely decorated. I liked that it has good quality furniture , soft furnishings etc not cheap tat like you get in some places. It is really well thought out. Good size TV ( which believe it or not is quite rare and I travel a lot )! And the best bed , it’s huge and so comfy!!! Fab slate floors and I loved the way the light flickered through in the evening. It was a very hot weekend but the stone cottage was nice and cool which was great for the dogs.
