X2 night stay - cleaner in but she didn’t clean Bed not made No clean towels Plates and leftover takeaway meal not removed Bathroom not cleaned eg sink Loo roll not replaced and we ran out Loved the large room but it does need a little TLC.

I have stayed here before and my room was always automatically cleaned. This time it was cleaned the first day but not the second so I returned to my room to find wet towels on the floor, unmade bed and to tea/coffee)water restocked. When I questioned this I was told I needed to put a sign on the door to say I wanted my room cleaned 🤷‍♂️ I also find the pub mains menu a bit strange with some of the options personally.

The bed was a little lumpy but the room was clean and had all the necessary bits required .

Stayed here twice now and enjoyed both times. I missed the evening meal on this trip as it was sunday and they close early but on my previous visit the food was lovely.

We found the bed quite uncomfortable this time we have stayed quite a few times and been really pleased with everything. But sadly, I think it is time to replace bed in room 4 as the springs can be felt coming through the mattress.

Bathroom and shower cubicle not as clean as we would have expected. Shower had dirt and grime on track. Mentioned to staff when I left the property so should be rectified by now I’d hope. Only a minor defect really. On the whole very good.

Good location. Nice rooms and quiet location. Milk supplied in small flask which is much better than the usual small cartons.

ADA Room Shower soaked the entire bathroom so was a bit difficult to shower/not flood the room

The only downside to the property was the wifi. Because of bad mobile reception in the village, the property could have done with good, reliable wifi. Unfortunately, it tended to drop in and out

The mattress was very firm, not what we are used too. Just a preference for us. King mattress on a double base so slid off.

Lovely breakfast, I had the porridge which was really nice and a generous portion. Shower was lovely. Nice size room. Friendly staff. Gold Butcombe beer was really nice.

I didn't like 10% being added to my meal charge in the pub. It may be in small print at the bottom of the menu but generally when eating in pubs I don't expect a service charge to be added - maybe it's just me. While the meal was ok, the pie of the day was a bit dry and the mash with it was lumpy and there wasn't enough gravy for me. While others eating were asked if their meal was okay, I was not. Another comment is that while the room is of a high standard, including the bi-folding patio style doors - they open out to a brick wall a foot from the window. Obviously there is nothing the property can do about this but it's not the best view.

The room was of a high standard, especially the brands of tea and coffee and the coffee pot with ground coffee. The bathroom products were also of a higher standard.

Unfortunately the bathroom flooded when we used the shower. I think it was just a case of a blocked drain, but a bit of a pain.

Excellent and friendly staff who went out of ther way to accommodate our needs. Nice room and good food.

Dirty carpet and needed a dust , evening staff grumpy and didnt show us to our room and didn’t explain it was upstairs ( horrible wet night and we had to go back to ask here it was )

I stayed in winter and although the room was clean and ready, the electric heating hadn’t been switched on and it took time to warm up. The evening meal was a steak which I asked for as rare but had to send back for a little extra cooking, it came back perfect but everything else on the plate had cooled down. In the morning the pub was closed and nobody was around as I left at 07:50 for work without the breakfast I paid for.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Excellent location, easy to find large carpark. Breakfast very good. Ate there both nights of our stay and the food was excellent. The staff all go the extra mile to make sure everything is as good as it can be. Will definitely stay again when in that part of the world.

We were not told about breakfast times, etc, and had to ask. As we were not staying for breakfast on the last morning and were leaving at 6.30 am, so turned in early. We were offered pastries to be delivered to our room, but they never arrived.

No food on a Sunday evening?! My arrival time was just before 6pm, 3 hours drive up to Swindon from Cornwall, no food available as service finished at 5pm. Very disappointing. Did find this out just before I left home so had to do with a garage bought salad (cold) as I didn’t want to go out hunting round Swindon for somewhere serving food (being an older woman staying on my own). Actually heard 3 other groups walking in while I was having a drink, asking about food, and all turned away. Missing a trick White Hart!

Convenient location for my needs. Good parking. Rooms good size, all facilities in room good…. but no milk, had to go to bar to ask for some, think I should have been offered it when I checked in but I wasn’t. Not a major problem.
