We stayed 2 nights and ate both nights in the pub. We had a small fish and chips each the first night which were very good. The 2nd night we were a group of 10 and some ordered on our recommendation the small fish and chips. We were horrified to see the portions served, the fish was tiny and half the amount we were served the night previous. When we mentioned this to staff, they checked with the kitchen and returned saying the chef had to make sure there was enough for everyone in the pub tonight and this was why the portions were cut and a lot smaller. Not acceptable at all,they really were like a childs portion and we should have been advised of the problem on ordering. They did however agree to reduce the overall bill by 10% as compensation. We also dont agree with the automatically added tip, you have to ask for it to be removed which many people would be embarrassed to do.

There were no windows in the room for fresh air. There was a large patio door but couldn't leave this open as we had 2 dogs with us.

Staff couldn't help you enough. Location of rooms were behind the cosy pub - we liked the fact that you didn't have to access/egress through pub with belongings and dogs. Breakfast was included and was amazing. We dined both evenings there too, the food was delicious. Dogs were welcomed by all.

We were put in the accessible room which had a wet room for the bathroom. The water didn't drain away quickly so whole bathroom underwater so made using toilet and sink difficult. Just a view of a brick wall two feet in front of window, which was disappointing. Breakfast was great but so slow. It took an hour from arriving to actually getting breakfast. We weren't in a hurry, but it would be frustrating if you are. Only two teabags in the room, this always irks me I'm afraid.

Beautiful pub. Lots of atmosphere. Food excellent. Great place for us to stay whilst visiting friends.

There was nothing to dislike.

Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome. Everything we needed to know was explained to us prior to us being shown to our Room. The Room was beautifully furnished , very cosy, and spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate makings were in the Room together with biscuits, and fresh milk was offered to us at check in. We did not eat in the Restaurant that evening, but Breakfast was very enjoyable with both continental and Full English choices. We will certainly return.

Nice pub in village near Swindon with rooms and it allows dogs to stay in room and in the pub. Lovely big bedroom with comfy bed and big ensuite. Nice welcoming fire

Desk lamp not working. Bulb blown in main light. At least 3 spiders with webs in room. Tv was a noghtmare to get to work and no bbc1 etc. Wi fi signal was poor.

When I booked it looked like a place in the countryside, in the pictures there was a long lane and a big establishment surrounded by green fields. In reality the hotel is in a village with no garden, nor nature around, no view. I think they may have more than one property but they could be specific with images for bookings in different locations. I was a little disappointed. Other than that our stay was good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room very spacious with a very comfortable bed, a desk, tea and coffee facilities and even some delicious cookies. Nice decor, good lighting, very clean. You can adjust the room temperature. Breakfast included was excellent, food in general in the restaurant was really good and the atmosphere nice. Free parking, decent wifi, and It was quiet at night.
