We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Wheatlands Lodge is an amazing hotel, in a fantastic location, run by wonderful, friendly, hosts Mike & Lynn, with free car parking, delicious breakfasts, superb decor, located in a quiet setting, close to Windermere centre.

Elegantly appointed room. Very fresh, clean,and stylish. Same for breakfast room. Nice view of back yard with big wall of windows which afforded plenty of daylight. Comfortable bed. Plenty of amenities and snacks.

ItalyI think the 5-star rating might look a bit misleading, if comparing the facilities offered by other types of accommodations, but this rating system is inconsistent and changes in every country. Services are correctly listed on the website, when in doubt, and the hosts are very responsive in the chat.
Mike and Lynn were amazing hosts, and the home-cooked breakfast was just the best start for the day - especially for the local raspberries jam and Mike’s cooking. The pickup point for Mountain’s Goats tours is just a 5-minute walk, and Bowness is a nice 20-min walk. Quiet location, great for relaxing.

United KingdomIf, like us, you're keen on a mid afternoon snooze before going out of an evening, I'd request a room on the first or second floor. The ground floor can be a little noisy in the afternoon, as the team are sorting out stuff, and people are checking in. Same goes for when breakfast activity begins are about 8am.
The guesthouse is absolutely lovely; Mike and Lynne take great pride in looking after you. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and furnished to a high standard. My wife particularly enjoyed the high quality toiletries provided. The breakfast options were excellent, including the homemade bread, which was delicious. Mike and Lynne were attentive, and gave excellent tips on where to go and how to get there. We'd love to visit again.
