The hotel was well located, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The courtyard room was large and well appointed. The breakfast was enjoyable. Hotel residents are able to access the racecourse which was interesting to see.

Room in annexe quite dated, especially the bathroom. Shower was tiny. No proper curtains, so very early start due to sunrise.

Bar prices were higher than advertised on line and in menus on tables/in rooms. Dealt with appropriately when it was brought to the staffs attention.

Room good, only negative was the noise caused by the horse boxes parked underneath the window and staff were loading them at 6am day after racing.

We liked everything!

Friendly, accommodating staff, lovely grounds, excellent food and service. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and lounge seating area is extremely comfortable.

Check in system (lady was not helpful). 20 minutes wait for 2 cocktails. Dinner room was like a playground with kids running about with balloons. My husbands meal was good, mine was not. Sauces out a carton the mushroom starter sauce was the same as the chicken sauce, bland. Never checked on, no desserts offered. I would definitely stay in the hotel again however never eat their again.

Where have the tea pots gone at Breakfast ? Hate making individual cups, in the cup, often more than one cup each. Up and down , up and down. awful idea. Similarly would prefer small milk jugs even if under new 'self service' system, we have to self fill from larger communal jugs. Similar up and down story. We needed an extra cereal bowl on the table just to collect the waste products, tea bags, butter wrappings, marmalade tubs etc. Some sort of on table waste receptacle should be included in the new standard. Room 117: Toilet makes a sound like a Clyde ferry horn leaving harbour, when flushing.(pipe noise quite loud, esp. at night) Constant noise throughout the day and night from heat exchangers below window, rumbling away, like a generator, this needs suppressing. (needs a muffler or sound deadening) Worst feature of room 117 ! Check it for yourself. It's Poor. No swimming pool or SPA facilities.

Arrived late from flight, missed dinner but staff organised some excellent sandwiches and nibbles plus a drink from the bar. Would not expect better service, anywhere, under the circumstances. 5* customer service. New 'buffet' style Breakfast was a surprise: Mixed feelings about that. Decided not to partake as we chose Eggs Benedict from the menu. Result: Freshly cooked eggs and bacon, to order, Just like it should be ! ....Sublime ! Buffets are just OK, but food quality and warmth is never the best, it just sits too long generally. Hard bacon, dried sausage and rubbery eggs, often the result, not exactly what is expected of a 4* establishment. Careful with this, needs tuning. Room: Bed comfort was excellent. Wife slept like a log...! I slept well too but was woken early by the noise. (see below.) Free high speed internet....super...great ! Free parking. (despite the sea gulls)....WOW !! Savings from the airport parking allowed us to upgrade our room. (117) Free EV charging......as an E driver myself this was....unexpected, even if only @ 7KW/h.... BRILLIANT !!! and more to come! Needless to say...we will be back for more, hopefully a little quieter next time, but overall....Unbeatable package as it is right now. We loved it.

Got literally the dregs of the Croft sherry ! No tomato juice as alternative - pity to run out and waiting for a delivery when within walking dis of Tesco!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Western House Hotel in Ayr. The room size was fantastic plenty of space and really comfy bed. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Highlight was the breakfast with a great selection and really tasty haggis! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ayr.

The bed and pillows were a bit hard. The chairs in the ballroom were uncomfortable.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Immaculately clean. The rooms were beautiful. Great shower. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing. Very good value for money
