Better reading lamps in the room would have been nice

Very comfortable bed, large room with a gorgeous view, friendly and helpful staff, great food at restaurant, good selection of drinks and snacks in room, late check out time and historic building in a wonderful location.

Well run old hotel overlooking the harbour, with delightful staff and good food.

Some day they'll have to spend a lot of money on the decor and fittings, but that's to quibble. Glimpses into other rooms revealed that some have superb views over Tobermory harbour.

We only ended up in the hotel more or less by accident, and got what was probably the last room (overlooking the car park). Yes, it's fairly typical of a lot of Scottish hotels built in the last century but one - slightly faded and clinging on to its Victorian glories. But the room was clean and quiet (all those stone walls), the staff were very kind and helpful and the food was excellent and unpretentious. A really nice place to stay, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Some of the decor is dated and not all rooms have been upgraded. We were happy with ours though.

Beautiful view of the harbour from our room on the first floor. Bed super comfy, good size bathroom with spacious shower and large fluffy towels. Plenty of space to spread out - comfy lounge in the evenings and patio for seeing the sun go down. This hotel is super charming with great staff. Breakfasts are generous. Dinner is generally high quality. Highly recommend.

No elevator. Staff in dining room seem a bit disorganized, like deer in the headlights when the pressure starts to build:))

Excellent location, probably the best views I've ever experienced on the patio, great place to Anya cocktail when the sun is shining:))

You do have to get your suitcase up the stairs (we were on the top floor-level 3) but staff were willing to assist.

Grand building and stunning setting with amazing views. Spacious well appointed room and other areas of the hotel for guests were an equally as lovely.

The food in the restaurant. Sorry but the evening meal was very poor. The breakfast, buffet style, was a bit better.

The location was fabulous. Some of the hotel amenities didn’t quite match the location.

Quality of food at dinner can be hit and miss for the price you are paying, but the restaurant staff proactively offered us a discount when we weren’t completely happy with one of the dishes.

This is an old, heritage hotel so if you go with the right expectations you won’t be disappointed. The view from the restaurant is amazing. Rooms are large, plenty of hot water in the shower, hotel staff is polite, friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was slow replacing food on the buffet so ended up having it in installments! Room wasn't serviced even though we left the card request on the door prior to going out.

Good position not too far up the hill. Great sea views. Food was well prepared. Would return here again.

Beautiful position, clean, good breakfast, shame there is no leeway on the 4pm check in.

It's such a shame there was no leeway on the 4pm check in time. We tried checking in half an hour early but was told we couldn't (we had already notified the hotel of an early arrival on our booking). Someone else tried booking a quarter of an hour early and again was turned down. We understand rooms have to be made to a high standard but after a long journey some rooms must surely have been ready and it would have stopped the 4pm queue. Starts the experience off on the wrong foot.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The position of the hotel is really good and although up the hill everything was doable. Parking was also a bonus. Beautiful views from the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent and had dairy free options available -even soya milk in your room. We would stay here again if we went back to Mull.

The restaurant. Fish was not fresh or local, as a piece of frozen fish with absolutely no taste. Restaurant (young) waiter clearly does not want to be there so please put him on other duties. Bun fight for parking. Especially when workers vans occupy the two available electric spaces.

Great size room. Warm and comfortable. Lovely reception staff and very helpful in getting access to electric car charge point.

The drawing room needs a design makeover. It felt too eclectic, haphazard and not well loved. Like an old people’s home. The tables in the restaurant are not white tall enough to be able to sit properly at the table; thighs get stuck. I could see I wasn't the only one with the issue.

Breakfast was amazing, restaurant service excellent, food amazing, views from restaurant are stunning. Beds very comfy, towels were fluffy.
