Fantastic staff. The reception crew are super friendly and helpful! They are the biggest asset of the hotel. Especially the young man, he is the best receptionist offering the best service ever! Free breakfast bag for every morning which is a nice surprise for us. We had our dog with us, they were very friendly to our dog too, preparing everything needed. Neighbourhood is more than satisfied, we enjoyed walking around with our dog everyday safely. We'd love to stay again if we'd come back here in future. (BTW, Eastbourne is much nice than Brighton, quiet, clean and much less noisy tourist)

Loved the ambience of this hotel. Wonderful mixture of old meets new with some wonderful quirky little elements. Loved the 'old maid' (the lift) and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for the beach (right opposite), theatre is a 5 minute leisurely walk, centre and shops a 10 minute walk. Lots of places to eat out only a short stroll from the holtel. Parking was on road and you can buy a voucher from the hotel reception at £2 a day. We only stayed for a weekend to attend a wedding so booked a small double room which was perfectly adequate for our needs and we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and facilities within the room. Bed was comfortable as well. Love the complimentary breakfast bags and the sweet treat bowls in reception are a lovely touch! We would definitely be happy to stay there again.

The decor was interesting...not sure about the kids canvases in the main bedroom went with the fish wallpaper. Also could have done with some shower gel in the bathroom.

The room lay out was great for our family. Lovely comfy beds and great view of the sea.

I left the window open because I wanted to listen to the sea . Which was lovely! In the early hours of morning I did hear the typical sounds of night out folks outside and speeding cars. Next time I won't keep the window open!!

Welcoming and professional staff and very attentive to my messages before arrival and always ready to communicate in a warm manner during my stay. Superb single room with sea view which was quiet, comfortable and clean. Easy to reach location on foot. Take away simple breakfast items that are good to take onto the beach in the morning .

Great location on the Sea Front. Lots of on street parking around the hotel at a reduced rate of £2.20 per day. Friendly staff, easy check in, free biscuits and sweets in reception. There is a bar area that we didn't use ourselves but is available for residents. There are also vending machines and a pool table. Comfortable quiet room.

The hotel is a lovely old building but is looking a little tired inside & out - guessing this is the reason the scaffolding is up.

Reception staff were very friendly & gave lots of information about the hotel & surrounding area. The little book with the local map & money saving vouchers/discounts was great along with the little touches of free 'treats' in reception & the choccies on the bed. The lift was an added bonus as a lot of the older hotels don't offer this. My partner has mobility issues - he could manage the outdoor steps as a good rail is outside but would not have been able to do any upstairs room so the lift was 👍🏻. Nice & clean room & perfectly functionable for our night stay. Best of all, the location. Would definitely return.

Nice room and reasonably clean room with a view. They give out breakfast bags with croissants, juice, etc. This was a nice alternative to make up for the fact that they don't serve breakfast – we had ours on the beach outside :)

Fantastic value for a room close to the centre of town. On arrival the receptionist sold us a parking voucher that allowed us to park right outside the hotel for just £2.00 for the whole day until 11:00 am the check-out day. A fantastic Eastbourne Council scheme to encourage people to stay in local hotels. Well down Eastbourne Council! The room was a good size and we were delighted with the "packed breakfast" which we took down to the beach on one morning and ate in our room on the other. It might not be the finest breakfast ever, but was perfect for our needs and included in the price. We hope to stay again!

The shower could do with an upgrade. It's a shower over the bath with a fabric curtain and the temperature control is a little unpredictable making it hot or cold with very little warning.

The staff were lovely - nothing was a problem. The dogs were VERY welcomed and looked after. They had their own beds, bowls and treats. We have a beautiful view with two seats and a small table in the bay window. Perfect for what we needed. The Victorian lift was great!

Unfortunately there was scaffolding all around the building, so we could only see the sea when standing up. When sitting down, at the window, we really only had a view of the scaffolding. We had paid extra for a partial view of the sea, so I guess this was it. Cooked breakfast would have been lovely, though there were no facilities for this. Having said all this, we DID enjoy our stay. Thank you.

Perfect situation, friendly, polite staff. The breakfast was a bonus, but we could have done with some plates...as it was awkward to butter and jam the croissants.
