Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast "managers" were not very helpful at all, in fact whist younger staff were running around like headless chickens the managers did very little. When I approached a manager to ask for some Decaf tea, he said they didn't have any and there was no option for decaf coffee either. However the following day a member of staff (not a manager) quickly found a great big box of decaf tea in a cupboard - why are they not out for folk to use. As a person allergic to caffeine, I had less choice then anyone else.
The location of the hotel was perfect for central Manchester, staff helpful and kind.

NetherlandsThe price was steep. Probably because of an event in the weekend, and the location in the city, but it was definitely on the high side.
The property is amazingly located, close to the city center, metro link, and trains. This means you have endless access to everything Manchester and its surroundings have to offer. The rooms are super quiet, with a really efficient climate control and the best beds and pillows ever. The rooms are small but clean and are perfect if you are fully abled. If you are disabled they may be a bit small. We hadn’t booked anything special room wise, so perhaps the other rooms offer more space that I am not aware of. We did not have any breakfast at the hotel but we did order room service. The roomservice was very quick and the pizza we ordered was really tasty. Clearly not an Italian pizza but, for room service really great. It felt homemade and fresh. The shower was really lovely, offering a rain shower and a separate more traditional shower. The hotel has big flasks with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and body lotion that were of great quality for a hotel offering. really appreciated this being available. The staff was kind, patients and did not mind accommodating when we wanted to leave 10 minutes later than our check out time so we didn’t have to wait in the cold and rain. They were also very kind to take us a group picture.

United KingdomThe bed was really small, the toaster at breakfast kept sticking and there wasn’t always a staff member in sight to retrieve the bread - just replace the toaster! The hairdryer was pathetic. The glass bathroom wall meant you couldn’t put the light on in the night as would wake each other. It was definitely overpriced for what we received.
Location was good, the staff were really friendly, nice bar area/tv seating area. Great poached eggs for breakfast.

United KingdomDe-Caff teabags not available. My wife suffers with Migraines and can only use De-caff. We did ask the maid and she came back with some De-caff coffee which was a nice touch. Internet access was not very good to be honest. It perhaps should have had something in the room to explain passwords and how to access it.
Very comfy bed. Good spacious room. Bathroom. Shower in particular, was superb. Good size TV. Would definitely return for a short stay weekend break. Great Location. Central to most things.

United KingdomThe restaurant was an unpleasant experience. On the breakfast, staff puts several pieces of old cheese and old meat (so that it is dangerous to it them), people do not take them (obviously), and staff does not change them during the whole breakfast. This was the same scenario during all 3 days of my stay. When I asked a lady if they had fresh cheese, she responded very nervously that the cheese was fresh (it was not). So they just pretend that they serve cheese and meat - good savings for them! In the restaurant a guy cleans tables with a very small napkin - absolutely dirty! - and first he wipes the table and thereafter he wipes chairs with the same dirty napkin. Rooms on the lower floors smell damp and windows are closed, so try to get a room on the upper floors.
Excellent location in the city centre, generally nice and new room, comfortable bed, a/c, towels heating, very good and helpful receptionist and room service, fridge where you can keep your food

United KingdomOn return from gig at Co-op Live, the bar was shut, which meant my evening came to an abrupt halt. Evening staff not very friendly. Breakfast fine, but fruit and cereal offerings were underwhelming. Breakfast staff still need a lot of training.
