The bath and shower didn't seem to run hot for long and were a bit complicated.

If we come again I would ask for a king size bed.

We liked the quiet, calm atmosphere, the mismatched Victorian furniture and original contemporary art. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable, even if a little small as we are tall people. There was a good choice for breakfast and I particularly liked the homemade yoghurt with seeds and honey!

I would like to suggest to add some shelf space in the bathroom. No complaint but people like to put their toiletries somewhere, especially when staying for a few nights. :-)

Lovely location, relaxed atmosphere & cosy rooms. A few steps away from the most busy part of the village but still well connected to bus & walking routes. Very friendly & attentive staff, good breakfast. I very much appreciated the free upgrade to a bigger room upon arrival. Thank you for a great time in the Lake District!

Room lacked some storage, could have done with some back of door hooks for towels and coats.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble.

More hooks or towel bars in the room and bathroom. Nowhere to hang towels or coats. There was an unpleasing smell in the stairway. Very strong. Probably some sort of disinfectant, but not pleasant to come and go through.

The location was excellent. The staff lovely. The food, excellent. Great coffee!!

Nothing to dislike

Beyond and above, we had an amazing stay. The staff was so kind and helpful. Great breakfast with lots of options! We just loved it! The room was nice and big, good bath and great view onto the mountains.

A small point but a second chair in the bedroom would have been perfect.

The disappointment was a lack of drawers in the room and limited storage space for our clothes. We felt that it also would have been nice to have had a mirror in the room rather than just the one in the bathroom

Everything you could ask for in the heart of Grasmere. Just back from a lovely stay here. A lovely building, attentive and friendly staff, nice rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, good shower, and luckily managed to get the car parked straight away. It’s a great location for exploring the area and I’d definitely stay here if I’m back in Grasmere.

Croissant on last morning was stale, otherwise food was great.

Staff were friendly and helpful. I had a verycomfortable bed. I also liked the secluded garden, with it's chairs and umbrellas. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the hotel had a peaceful atmosphere.

We stayed in the stargazing room, which was lovely but got very hot through the day and would of have benefited from black out blinds, as the light always woke us up very early.

Absolutely amazing stay. Amazing location within short walking distance of village centre. Staff were all amazing, very friendly and welcoming, especially Nick who greeted us when we arrived. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best cooked veggie breakfasts we've had in a long time. Definitely will be returning.and the decor is stunning. Quiet on a night, great nights sleep.

Very friendly staff who made sure we were comfortable. There was a issue with the hot water in our first room so they upgraded us and ensured we were well looked after. Wonderful breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden

Leathery scrambled egg! Otherwise the breakfasts were fine.

Exceptionally bright and comfortable room, with large window looking on to hills. Modern, well-equipped bathroom. The hotel was a beautifully adapted and updated large Victorian house. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
