Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had some trouble getting into the block and then into the apartment, it wasn't explained to us, maybe Valentina needs to make it very clear to future guests particularly as people come after a long drive and need to know what to expect(we rang and left message and then rang again leaving another message to say we got in). Also, another matter, the rubbish bin was broken but if you buy another one, please get a much smaller one as people have short stays and there is no need for a big one.
Cleanliness was exceptional, please congratulate your cleaner. Also, apartment was v.comfortable and location was good.

BahrainPlace had many spiders the day we arrived and we had to make sure that they were gone same day and the following day as well. Some pans in the kitchen needs deep cleaning, they were oily and not so clean, and some were broken too. I asked for an extra bed before we arrived, but got an answer it isn’t possible, although one could be placed in living room. I thought full cleaning was included for stays more than 9 days and it turned out just Linen and towels change.
Property easy to find on a main road, good quiet neighborhood. Bedrooms were nice and clean, bit small though. Sitting area was spacious, kitchen was fully equipped. In general the place was nice

United StatesSeveral small problems, which could be fixed easily for minimal cost. -- The online property guide (dated Nov. 22, 2022) was inaccurate and should be updated. The guide linked to a washer-dryer manual for the same brand but a different model from the machine in the flat. The control dial shown in the manual did not correspond to the control dial on the actual machine (different icons, different settings, etc.) I had to go online, find out where the model number was on the actual washer, and then search for the right manual and download it. The instructions for how to handle rubbish and recycling did not match the bins provided in the flat. The guide mentioned two bins, one for rubbish and one for recycling, in the kitchen but there was only one. There was also a caddy for food waste under the sink but the guide said nothing about it – when we asked management, we were told to just ‘put everything in the rubbish’. -- The cooking implements in the kitchen need to be replaced. The non-stick pans are all so old that they’re no longer ‘non-stick’ at all. Scrambling eggs left a thick layer of egg stuck to the pan, for instance. The provided knives are all so blunt that they are very dangerous to use. I had to peel an onion with my fingernails because none of the knives would cut through the papery onion skin!! And then chopping that onion and other vegetables was very difficult to do. There are also no measuring spoons anywhere. It was very frustrating to try to cook. -- The fan in the en-suite bathroom did not work. We reported this to the management on the third day of our 3-week stay and they said they would send someone to fix it, but no-one ever showed up. -- There is a lovely little patio but no furniture on it, so the patio is useless (nowhere to sit). -- The contract says that linens will be changed weekly for stays of more than 10 days, but in fact our linens were changed only once, on the 11th day of our 3-week stay.
-- Excellent location. The southbound stop into central Oxford is directly across from the flat and the northbound stop is about half a block north of the flat. Service is very frequent. -- The nearest grocery stores are just under a mile away, but the frequent bus service makes shopping easy. From South Parade (the third stop south of the flat) it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the stop to the Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and M & S on the Banbury Road. There are also many restaurants on that section of the Banbury Road and on South Parade itself (we particularly liked Mamma Mia pizzeria and Kopitiam Malaysian restaurant, both of which offer take away or eat-in). -- The flat is well laid out, spacious, and very quiet. There is one en-suite bedroom and one bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom, so the 3 of us did not get in each other’s way. The bedrooms face the back so there is no street noise. There were people staying in some of the other flats, but we never heard any noise from the other flats at all and only very occasionally heard people on the stairs going up to their flats. -- The flat and the building seemed very secure. We liked the key-code entry since it meant we did not have to worry about losing a key. -- The beds were very comfortable and there was ample closet space (not always a given). The main living room is large with a couch and a chair, some stools, and a table with seating for four. -- It was very convenient to have the washer-dryer in the flat, since launderettes seem scarce in Oxford.

United StatesBut wifi was spotty, and one room had musty curtains that made us cough. While staff were very responsive, they wouldn't give us an extra 1/2 hour to check out even though cleaning staff had not yet arrived. Not helpful.
Spacious unit in good shape on a pretty road with good bus access.

United KingdomWe were provided with the incorrect key code to get in which was a bit frustrating. There are only 3 comfy seats in the lounge which is odd for a 4 person apartment. Could do with more cutlery please and also a shelf or some hooks in the bathrooms for toiletries. There is one parking space and we had two cars, there is no on-street local parking for non-residents during the day so we had to use the park and ride, not a problem but it would have been useful to know this beforehand. Access to the patio is through one of the bedrooms and there wasn't any patio furniture when we were there in March.
The flat was very clean and comfortable and in a great location - we would stay again. Excellent bus service into Oxford and convenient for cafes and takeaways.

United KingdomApartments have keypad entry locks; one apartment consistently took 3 or 4 attempts to enter. One apartment was a bit hotter than the others for no apparent reason - no heating switched on!
Really well equipped kitchen: proper cooker and decent oven, microwave, fridge and freezer (latter not in the property description), and a wide range of cooking implements and pans. The lounge area was comfortable and modern. The location was close enough to walk into Oxford City centre (and on a good bus route) but easily accessed from the A40 and M40 even at peak times. Communication from Vanbrugh was clear and the pictures showing parking and recycling very good.

United KingdomWe booked a flat in Oxford and got relocated in a cottage 1h before check in time outside Oxford at 45min walk from the closest shop and far away from convenient public transport. We were told we would get a night free of charge that we did not get. We stayed 2 nights instead of one week as the cottage was too far from everything for us to stay there and we were charged for the cleaning fees that we would have paid for 1 week for the 2 nights.
