No lift but at least the staff were very obliging helping us with our cases. St Michael’s Road is part of the Oxford Zero Emissions location so taxis have to pay a fee to pick up there. There are no Ubers in Oxford but that is the same for every Hotel!

Breakfast is served to your room in a hamper which is excellent. Cereal, meat, cheese and breads as well as fruit juice and coffee. Yummy. It is so easy to walk anywhere from the hotel and all the shops and many colleges are right on the doorstep.

Already stated in the likes section.

Excellent location. Charming hotel a tad noisy from the street below, and we could hear and feel the movement of people in the hall, however the place is old and one should expect that these older houses are not built to today's expected noise elimination standards. Overall can recommend for a few nights stay in Oxford.

Choices for breakfast were limited (for example, no fruit on option) and the format confusing. It would help if a buffet were available in addition to the made up hamper.

Situation couldn’t be better. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

The bed was very small, and the walls were paper thin. We could hear our neighbours all night. The room was very warm, no air conditioning or fan, and the shower leaked / dripped for most of the night on and off. For almost £300 / night, it wasn’t up to the standard we’d expect.

Fantastic location. Walking distance to everything you need. (Awesome coffee shop just a few doors down!)

The street noise in the room was the only negative about our stay. The pedestrians kept us awake until midnight and then the goods trucks, or whatever they were, started arriving outside our window at 6:30 am. The old windows have no sound protection.

Room was nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Location was great for shops, restaurants and sightseeing.

My bedroom was a top floor walk up. I would have preferred less stairs. My room had a desk to work at but no desk chair. I had to move the bench at the end of the bed over to the desk in order to get some work done.

Very nicely fitted out. Attractive rooms and public spaces. Nice staff.

The hotels website was a little confusing. We didn't get our champagne as requested. A gluten free biscuit would be a nice touch in the room.

The gluten free breakfast hamper was excellent. The table service was superb.

Poor choice of generic hotel furniture and fittings and a gigantic television undermined the potential beauty of the architecture. No fridge or mini-bar - not even a water glass ('there are no glasses in the building - you can drink water from the bottles', was the bizarre answer when we asked for water glasses.) Nor bar or breakfast.

Beautiful period building in a perfect location in the centre of town. Great view from the bedroom. It could be a stunning place if it were decorated with sensitivity...

It was more of a room in a building than a hotel - the room we were in had its own entrance. It was friendly enough and nicely decorated but felt a bit disconnected from a hotel experience.

Great location, clean and smartly decorated. A range of heating and cooling devices in the room!
