Lovely little boutique hotel. Fabulous interior and rooms.

The staff at breakfast are not as attentive as I would have expected. On a couple of occasions I have not been greeted and shown to a table as staff are in the back kitchen for periods of time. As I am usually on a tight schedule, I wait for few (3-5) minutes, then seat myself. Even after seating myself, no one comes to offer tea/coffee or take my room number. I understand that the team may be short-staffed during the week and very busy, but I would still expect the staff to know which tables are occupied. Perhaps allowing customers to serve themselves tea/coffee would be a good solution if this is the case. Having said this, I would not let this put me off from staying again, as I appreciate the staff are working very hard behind the scenes at a very busy time in the day.

I had a delightful buffet breakfast that included scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, fried eggs, sausage, and bacon. There was also a menu with additional items to order. The restaurant was charming, not too crowded, and the tables were nicely spaced apart. I booked the spa suite, which had a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and double-ended bath, as well as a roomy area with a sofa and desk. The room service meals are fantastic and are available from the restaurant. I really appreciate this service when I return to the hotel from a day in the office - the belly pork is particularly enjoyable. Plenty of free parking and electric charging points.

Parking area not disabled friendly as gravel paths EV charger points should only be for EV. Petrol cars were using spaces which meant we were unable to park & charge our vehicle overnight before our journey home.

Location was excellent & good value for money. Buffet breakfast was excellent quality & staff were lovely.

    See above

Breakfast was good but the first table we were shown to had food on the seat so we had to ask for another. The room was in the old part of the hotel. Good size, comfortable bed but the smoke detector was positioned directly above the bed with a light flashing every 10 seconds which impaired my sleep. Had to cover my eyes to sleep. This was room 9, Goodwood. We have stayed in the modern part before which is far better. Shower good but mirror above dressing table was positioned high up with poor lighting. Only 1 bedside light and no ac although there was a fan.

We were placed in the old building. We never saw any other resident or staff member. This part of the building means you have to access the main building by walking around the car park. This felt like a completely different hotel and not the one I felt I was checking into. The hotel was far from full and we are not sure why we were placed in this dead part of the hotel, other than we were booking.com customers. We still paid nearly £100 for 1 night so not exactly cheap. As stated I just feel I didn’t stay at the hotel I booked. Did not feel welcome at all and all in all quite disapponted.

The main reception and dining areas are lovely with a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good.

Excellent shower but my husband found it slippy so a non slip might be useful.

My husband and I are vegetarians, Wildes has a veg/vegan menu and were very happy to fulfil my request. The food was lovely, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff delightful. Location very nice, lovely walk from the front door into the countryside.
