Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomToilet handle needed pulling up manually or it wouldn't stop flushing; would have appreciated a bit more toiletries space.
Great location, walkable everywhere that mattered; quiet during the night, nice view of the park. Front desk was no-nonsense and quick. Room was comfortable. Minibar had 2 capsules of coffee per person in the morning, which was enough, but barely. The bathroom/toilet was spacious. I liked the writing desk with the leather desktop, it was a nice touch. The bed was just firm enough, we slept well.

United KingdomBreakfast was terrible. Waited half hour for tea and had to request three times. My breakfast came after 45min wait and was cold. Sausage was undercooked when it arrived was advised they were too busy to cook mushrooms and may I add restaurant was only half filled . The Maitre'd was not very helpful and after speaking to her never apologised and still had to wait for drinks. Another breakfast came out which was warmer but not enjoyable and lacked any taste. The young waiter who originally took our order was pleasant but I feel had not been trained properly. I did complain at reception and this was dealt with efficiently and were very apologetic and discounted breakfast in full..
Hotel was lovely and in an excellent location. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very good. Clean and spacious.

United KingdomWe ate in the restaurant but thought it was very cold under the air conditioning. The staff did make an effort to increase the temperature but I wouldn’t say I felt warm.
The staff were helpful and very welcoming. We didn’t expect our room to be ready when we checked in early but it was so that was a bonus. Also really appreciated the complimentary late check out as we were competing in the Cambridge half marathon. Will book again for the half marathon next year!!
