Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's a big campus and you could end up anywhere on it, which could get complicated for parking and if you have to attend an event on campus which turns out to be the other side from where you have been allocated the room.
It was a reasonable price and the wifi was fine.

FranceTwo things: The bed and mattress were horrid. The springs on the platform and in the mattress were loose, so the bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. If it were my call, I'd get rid of the spring bed and mattress. The linen and pillow were fine, though. The kitchen was a good size with a fridge, freezer, and stove but no crockery or cutlery. This was in the advertisement, so it was not unexpected.
The location was perfect for my need to be at the university. It's basic but sufficient. Very clean with toiletries and cotton linen. The grounds are beautifully kept. It was overall and excellent stay. I, in fact, extended my stay. There are several restaurants on the campus and a well-stocked mini market. And, of course there is the student union bar.

United KingdomIt took a long time to find the security office to collect the key and then quite a while to find the actual block that the room was in. If you have time for this then it wouldn’t be a problem but if you are travelling for work and are tired etc it is very challenging. The room was very basic and quite old/worn. The bed was poor. There was no curtain on one of the windows.
The room was clean. There is a (un equipped) kitchen for shared use It’s the cheapest accommodation in the area

United KingdomNo hot water and no reception, so I did not know how to ask for help, particularly at night. The location was difficult to find with the information given, I had to look for a map of the university online and ask where I was staying when I picked up my keys. It is easy to set off the alarm on the door if you are unfamiliar with the lock, so a few people set this off (myself included). As stated, there is no crockery so it is important to bring mugs, plates etc if you want to cook. You are given a plastic cup, which isn't useful for hot drinks. The shower is more of a wet room, which may bother some people.
En-suite, which is good value for money. I felt very safe among the students and the security desk (where you pick up your keys) was very helpful once I found it. The room is very close to the kitchen facilities, and an oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and recycling bins are available. There are lots of facilities available on campus if required, including frequent buses to the city centre, shops and cafes. Towels and some toiletries are included with the room. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the location was quiet (this was from 8pm-8am). Great wardrobe space.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a means to make a cup of coffee/tea beyond the just the kettle in the kitchen. One plastic cup and no utensils rendered the kettle pretty redundant. I also didn't like the reliance on plastic. A nice touch would be to supply a complementary University mug perhaps and some sachets. The cafes closed earlier than I expected so there really wasn't anywhere to get a coffee.
I loved being on campus with all the students. It is also a lovely campus. The room met most of my needs. It was warm and cosy, had excellent wifi, and felt very secure.

United KingdomThe directional signs around campus are difficult to read at night. A torch is advisable. Mattress could have been better; more suitable for children or young lightweight adults.
Quiet on-suite room with a work station. Linen, bedding & towels provided. Very clean. Access to a spotless kitchen that has a kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer, table & chairs and a cooker. Everything else you need to bring, just like a student. Security is great as are the staff; very helpful. Free parking and gym. What’s not to like.

United KingdomFirstly, the room was very hot on entering, but was quickly sorted by opening a window and turning off the heating. The bed - it was fine, although the pillows were clearly at the end of their life, being lumpy and uneven. It was all feeling clean until as I left, I noticed a little silverfish going along the floor towards the bed. That put me off. Not the fault of the hotel, but there is literally noting in the evening. The bar was closed early, there are no easy routes into the town centre, and everything on campus is shut. Just for your awareness if you are staying, if you want something to do, stay elsewhere.
The room was as expected. A single bed and an en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfy enough, the room was vacuumed and cleaned. There were fresh towels and shower stuff provided. If you want something cheap and easy it's perfect for one night.

United KingdomThe contact number supplied on Booking.Com is a dead line there is a digit missing. The other number supplied I did call on Saturday and still waiting for a reply. As luck had it I saw a security guard after an hour of trying to find the correct location who pointed me in the right direction. This is not good enough, the Correct number for Assistance is a basic fundamental need.
