Could have done with a small fridge in room. Fire alarm went off during breakfast, staff did/said nothing and nobody moved to exit, although we were right next to one. Went off after a while. Made a couple of dogs very frightened. If was a drill, it would have been nice to have staff let us know. Would have preferred a nicer view than into other windows of hotel.

Breakfast was lovely, self service and plenty of choice. Bedroom clean, comfy bed, nice bathroom & toiletries.

I booked a single room as I find a double bed too big for when I travel without my husband. The room itself was clean and fresh, but it looked out onto a small space with ventilation system (one of maybe 3 or 4 rooms out of a medium sized hotel, so just unlucky). Just a bit noisy and warm for me as I couldn’t sleep with the window open. The hotel did provide a fan in the room.

Beautifully decorated (recent refurb), incredibly clean and fresh. Room was comfortable. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful with any questions (before and during stay). Secure bike storage. Good breakfast choice. Dog friendly, too! I will definitely book if I visit Tynemouth again.

The only thing I would comment on, but which is due mainly to personal taste, was the decor in the restaurant areas was somewhat overpowering and dark and in my opinion didn’t epitomise the art deco era. Maybe a few less clashing fabrics and wallpapers.

The food was excellently prepared, cooked and served. The menu choice was very good and the breakfasts were excellent value for the money. The staff were very friendly and helpful being knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely return in the future .

Train noise from the Tyne & Wear Metro tracks. Left the hotel with flea bites. The room carpet was stained.

The self service cooked English breakfast is excellent. The location on the Tyneside beach front is a winner also.

Newly refurbished hotel. Fab location. Touch expensive considering my room was very small, albeit functional, and had some Seaview. If you get the right room, it will be superb. I will deffinately stay again.

Don't like to see dogs in a Hotel, where food is being served. Hotel bedroom doors banged shut during night time.

Breakfast was very tasty especially the Black Pudding! Superb ambience and decor in the Bar areas.

The price for a dog to stay is a bit steep considering that there is no dog bowl or blanket in the room. Also booking.com says the rate is £10 per night and the hotel charges £15 . Bar prices are expensive compared to other local hotels

Good location. Plenty of free parking.good size rooms. Friendly, helpful staff.
