Staff didn’t seem to be well organised. Too long to order drinks and food, more staff needed behind bar. Dinner was good, Dartmoor breakfast was poor, no bacon and ingredients were poor quality

The log fire in the great hall at the bar. When you come back from a rainy hike the warmth of the fire gives you a tremendous feel good feeling

The Dinner menu is very disappointing. Such poor choices. They really need to go back to the drawing board and choose some completely different dishes. It wouldn't stop us staying there but we would definitely eat elsewhere.

A charming hotel in a very pretty setting. The young staff are so willing to make your stay as brilliant as possible. They should all be highly praised.

For two hikers wanting a civilised break whilst crossing the moor, The Two Bridges is an excellent location. It has kept its old-world charm but the bedrooms have been suitably modernised. Dinner and breakfast were excellent.

I was disturbed by a fan noise from a funnel outside my room coming from the kitchen but I was quickly relocated and was issued a reasonable discount for my inconvenience

It was very hot in the back room, though the room was nice with a four-poster canopy bed. And a security light we shone in the room triggered by the flapping of a shed door. We were moved to the Vivien Leigh room, which was a pleasant surprise, making up for the discomfort. You need to plan for buses if you don't have transport, and make sure you are seen by the driver (no buses on Sunday).

We had a beautiful room, though we moved to another which was also very nice (the Vivien Leigh room). The meals were special as staff were very attentive and made efforts to provide what we wanted. It is a beautiful location, walkable to Princetown and the moorland around. They feed the resident white geese in the morning and they wait near the garden on the driveway for their breakfast (as we had our own).

Fabulous hotel in the heart of Dartmoor. Lovely location, very peaceful. Lots of traditional character inside, and a very comfortable room. Our evening meal was exceptional, and the pianist played beautifully for over 2 hours while we dined.

barking (anxious) dogs being left in the bedroom whilst owners dine when the hotel offer alternative eating areas where their dog can be with them, yet away from other diners. leaving, we never like leaving but they always say 'see you next time', they know us so well.

how welcome we always feel when we arrive here. our room (Wallis Simpson's) was lovely, our view, looking over the kitchen gardens out the back was really good at night when the security lights were on. the geese, they are a favourite attraction. the staff, some amazing ones (Carole on reception), some new some old (time working there) Tom gets a special mention as being a vegetarian and staying for 7 nights then my choices were limited so he spoke with the chef and they made a plan and I had amazing food. the housekeeping staff (Paula) keeping us well stocked in our room and one of them carried our big case down the stairs for me on leaving, much appreciated.

Fabulous dinner. Our anniversary. More than I would normally pay, but it was a special day.
