We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThere was a winter duvet on bed which was way too hot for May. Would have preferred a lighter one Very snug to get around the bed to the window.
The view was incredible. Bathroom is gorgeous. Kitchen well equipped and has everything you need, unless you need a washing machine....there isn't one of those! 😆 King-size bed, no idea where the tv remote for the bedroom was kept so I didn't watch it.

United KingdomIt was annoying not having a smart tv so we couldn’t watch anything on catchup or even stream from another device. Seems like it wouldn’t be hard to do! Some of the decor/furniture was a bit cheap. Some of the laminate flooring was a bit distorted and the table and chairs were rather flimsy. It was a bit annoying not to have somewhere outside to leave wet things from the beach but we should have realised that ahead of time.
Good location - a bit further into town but not too far and quiet. The view was great and kitchen reasonably stocked. Bedrooms and sofa were comfortable.

United KingdomExcellent views from the flat over Porthminster beach and towards St Ives harbour/beach. Very quiet. Near the coastal walk path, and easy walk to Carbis bay and Lelant. Near rail station and bus station, so good links to Hayle and Penzance. Easy 10-15 minute walk to St Ives.

United KingdomGreat view of St Ives from the comfortable living room. 3 or 4 minutes walk down the hill to the beach. Just a few more minutes into town and to coastal walks. Very convenient parking, with vouchers supplied. Quiet, peaceful location.

United States of AmericaLost power last day and no WiFi info given. Sykes management never responded to any messages sent and when I called they were closed. No ability to leave voicemail. Had to leave residence in order to message them. No info to where to take garbage either Threw out breakfast foods last morning as no way to heat anything. Saw keys for fuse box but couldn’t find box. Sykes does have an emergency number but WiFi isn’t an emergency. Would not book anything Sykes cottages manages again

Absolutely fantastic loved the views loved the apartment. Everything could possibly need was there. More than enough water for bath. Decorated lovely. Tea coffee biscuits and milk was a lovely touch. TV and dvd worked perfect. Cannot fault it. What a great stay. Will definitely go back
