Room and bathroom were small, but contained everything necessary

Booked speculatively more than 12 months ago, Liz used to attend (literacy) courses at this venue. On the basis of the three 'B's to judge a stay by: Good size Bath Excellent Breakfast (actually had fried bread!) Comfortable Bed So all good. Gardens are fantastic, sat in the walled garden for an hour listening to the bird songs. Staff greet you with a smile and are friendly, sea views to die for.... My only question, how is this hotel only a three star not a five?

It was not that we didn't like it but the room could do with cold bottled water and in our room there was a crack in the wall in room 11. We feel that there could be spa facilities being its a resort also we feel that with the view there could be room for an a la carte restaurant outside but make it high enough so people have the views or another bar or cocktail bar in the resort maybe in the grounds as the outside grounds are beautiful with locally sourced drinks as we tasted a few in St Ives .But overall we really enjoyed and will be back.

The hotel was stunning staff were brilliant and helped it was clean and tidy and the location was great and the views were beautiful.

Leisure facilities ie pool very poor for size of accommodation. Not easily accessible for anyone with walking difficulties as concrete steps up from changing room. Hot water was very poor had to leave running water for 12 mins to,be able to have shower, air locks every morning. Told reception they told me to let water run constantly all taps until it’s hot. Extreme waste of water. As I live in north Cornwall I know that we have had water shortages this sort of thing doesn’t help the situation Restaurant poor choice for speciality diets or vegetarians vegans. Continental breakfast £18 very over priced in my opinion. Could do with small fridge in rooms as they offer room only,basis. Only cleaned every 3rd day. No recycling facilities. Had to ask for room bins to be emptied before 3rd day. Not much information in actual walks in grounds etc you have to download app every time to check things.

The room was extremely warm for this time of year. We had an issue with the radiator which was on all night. We had two fans to cool the room down which was not ideal. The bed was uncomfortable (but that was my own preference so not taking this into consideration of rating!)

Beautiful location set above St Ives town. 15 minutes walk down through the gardens to the town. Staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Good sports facilities with tennis courts, table-tennis , badminton, gym, basketball, and 2 swimming pools (1 inside, 1 outside). If I had to add a fault, there is no coffee station for early risers in the lobby. There is in the bedrooms however if you don't want to wake your partner a coffee station would be a good addition. Otherwise beautiful hotel and great staff.

Room was very warm at night and we were unable to adjust it .Quite a climb out of town if you arrive by public transport .

Breakfast was good but rather old fashioned but it’s a subjective response. For example more choice of yogurt flavours and fresh fruit rather than tinned.

It was very quiet. Not too busy and plenty of space to walk in the grounds. Great location to walk into at Ives.
