Great location and excellent staff. Let down only by the high temperatures in our room.

Our room was very hot with a large south facing bay window. There was a very good fan that helped us to keep the temperature under control but I think the room would have benefitted from some heavy duty blinds that could be closed during the day. I expected the swimming pool to be part of the main hotel building rather than a short walk away. It was pretty basic too. Could have been a few more hangers in the wardrobe and a bit more drawer storage space. Didn’t particularly like dogs being allowed in the dining areas. Staff were petting dogs and then serving food.

The location was excellent. The staff were superb. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Excellent view from the room. A good sized room.

Room was very warm which I think is due to being at the top floor of the hotel. We asked for a fan for the room and within minutes a staff member called at our room and provided us with one.

Room was absolutely spotless & lovely views across the bay. Staff are so friendly. We ate twice in the evenings in the restaurant and each time couldn’t fault the food or the service. Beautifully cooked breakfast and plenty of choice including fresh fruit, cereals and pastries. Plenty of parking spaces available outside the hotel.

Our room (22) was near the main staircase and two or three fire doors which made it quite a noisy area from around 6.30am until about 11.30pm. It wasn't a big issue, but if we go back we will ask to avoid room 22.

Breakfast was great, dinner really nice the only time we ate in the hotel in the evening. The pool was a bonus although too warm for swimming, nice for floating around. But the main stand-out factor was the level of service from staff, Tracey on reception in particular.

The Inn at the Bay pub, which is offered as an alternative to the restaurant but is like chalk and cheese compared to the restaurant. The food in the Inn was very mediocre. Meat was served almost 10 minutes before the veg, by which time the meat and gravy were cold. A shame as most of the staff here were friendly, just not that experienced with serving customers.

Very friendly reception staff and professional restaurant staff too. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a lovely standalone bath giving an air of luxury, though this was spoilt slightly by the mirror hanging off the wall and the plug not being attached to its chain.

Public areas tired and in need of refurbishment.

The service and location were great. Rooms were very comfortable and quite fresh looking so have obviously been refurbished not too long ago. The large spacious beer garden at the front of the hotel was very protected and a pleasant location to socialise and enjoy.

The room was silly hot at night, so it woke us up, and we had to open the window. The heating was on in June, and we couldn't turn it off. Had a meal at the jd Lees pub, which was cheap pub grub. Maybe try the restaurant as the breakfast in there was very good

Room was comfy and well equipped, shower was good, tv had a silly chrome cast thing, so couldn't watch what I wanted.
