Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomParking availability, thoeretically lots of street parking available but sadly taken up by others, we very rarely saw a space available, timing is the key! There are off street parking areas around but again these are very busy too and we had to wait and obviously further away from the accomodation. It may have been a busy time for the town but this was the only letdown,.
Our accomodation was 5 star, exceptionally clean, really comfortable, everything was modern and on point! The kitchen area and products that were available for us was fabulous, a great range of food)drink products and snacks, highly recommend staying!

United KingdomExcellent apartment in a great location so close to everything. Bed was very comfy and all the little extras were great saved a trip to the shop shortly after arrival with fresh milk, bread, bottles of water, crisps, bottle of wine and coffee pods. Very clean apartment and a great shower. Parking was easy enough on the road right outside also a car park just at the end of the road if north road is full then move the car down a little later. Will stay again next time in Aberystwyth

United KingdomParking limitations which meant one person waited with bags whilst partner retrieved the car. I panicked when owner sent me a link to enter property BUT she very kindly solved my concern without having to use an App!
Breakfast was plentiful with very good choice. Self service kitchen and its goodies was a lovely surprise so therefore reflected cost of stay. Accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Lovely entrance hall with a welcoming warmth.

United KingdomI arrived after 9pm, so parking was impossible. Fortunately I was able to find an area with double yellows for overnight with my disabled badge.
This is my 4th stay at Townhouse No 1, but my first stay in The Pier room. This place beats any other local accommodation, hands down, for comfort, facilities and value for money. The beds are so comfortable and I always get a good nights sleep. The additional kitchen facilities are superb.

United Kingdomalthough I'm not sure about sitting in the kitchen to eat , perhaps if there was more seating it may work better.
The room was very comfortable. The communal kitchen is a good idea , well stocked and convenient, although see below; The bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Donna was very helpful when the door access app didn't work.

United KingdomThere is free parking on the same street and adjacent streets - understandably given the location it can be a little tricky to bag a space. Mind you I have managed to do so on both my visits. And there is a car park just down the road (this was full the first time I tried). That's life - not a big deal.
I am lucky enough to have had reason to stay in Aberystwyth several times over the past 2 years and have stayed in hotel chains and smaller independents over this time. I rebooked to stay at Townhouse No1 because this has set a new bar for me. The location is great - a short stroll from the sea front. I've stayed in the same room twice which is spacious, well presented, has decent wi-fi and smart TV and is kept spotless. The ensuite has all you might want with an easy to use power shower. No sign of damp or mould. Smart TV, coffee facilities, complementary bottle of red and chocs and well stocked kitchen with snack / breakfast options all make for a very comfortable stay. I intend to book again.

United KingdomI honestly cannot fault the place. The ONLY tiny thing that was a slight issue was not being able to open the windows in the room when it got stuffy. I understand completely though that this is a health and safety issue, and when I asked if they could be opened the owner was there in no time and it was great to have a chat with him. But apart from that very small complaint it was really fantastic.
Everything was amazing - I had every single amenity I could think of, and then some. Room was spacious, clean, bright, beautifully decorated. Bathroom was more of the same, and the shower pressure and temperature was top notch, which is a novelty in hotels! The complimentary kitchen was also an AMAZING touch and made such a difference to they stay - was great to be able to just get a snack between meals or a drink without having to leave the place or order in.

United KingdomI am hesitant to say there was anything I "didn't like" because that is not the case, but just for transparency - there is no parking on site and we did have to drive up and down the surrounding area a few times before we found somewhere suitable to put the car. That said it was late at night on a Friday and we knew to expect this from reading previous reviews. Also there was a problem with the key card on the second day of our stay but staff were quickly on site to remedy the situation. The set up they had meant it was easy for us to communicate with them and they dealt with the issue efficiently and were really good fun.
We had an exceptional stay at the Townhouse No.1. My second visit to Aber as my Daughter is considering University there. We arrived quite late in the evening and the check in procedure had all been communicated very well with us. Might have been a struggle for anyone not used to downloading apps and using smart phones. The attention to detail with the check in, facilities and cleanliness is just outstanding. The room was a great size, fresh, very clean and well appointed. The shower was hot and powerful, apparently the BEST shower my daughter has ever had. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet. The bottle of wine was very welcomed after a long drive. Nespresso coffee machine, water bottles and chocolate were lovely touches. The complementary kitchen was the cherry on the top. Some lovely and thoughtful products which we made good use of. There was bread and toaster, butter and cheeses, cereals, milk and milkshake, water and soft drinks, crisps, fruit, welsh cakes, flap jacks and biscuits. We stayed 2 nights - Fri and Sat. On the Saturday night we went out to get a feel for the town, being a University Town with a third of the residents being students it was quite lively in places but the area surrounding the Townhouse is very quiet, albeit very close to the town, maybe just 10 mins walk to the beach and 20 mins walk to the railway station.

United KingdomThere is nothing to report here. It was flawless from the check-in and the stay to the check-out. We highly recommend it, Aberystwyth is lovely but that's the only draw back because we don't need to visit that often or we would!
It will be hard not to go overboard here. We travel every week, so hotels feature extensively. This is hands down one of the best we've stayed in. Because of the attention to detail, it ranks higher than many of the four—and five-star hotels we've been to in major cities. It may sound over the top but if you were to pick this up and put it in London, Manchester, Cardiff as a concept hotel, you'd be lucky to get a room! Also it's worth the stay just for the water pressure in the shower!!
