The bathroom was lovely but there were no handles on the bath for safely getting in and out and no grab rail to hold onto for the shower. The host was an Indian gentleman and had his Hindu house gods in the hallway and every room. It was very over the top. There was no imagery in my bedroom, but for that reason alone I wouldn't go back there.

I had a difficulty with my breakfast. I always state that I am a vegan and that I only have a continental breakfast. My host had gone to a lot of trouble to get me vegan products but had also bought vegan sausages and was over keen that I ate a cooked breakfast. It was awkward. Eventually I had to explain my medical condition as to why I couldn't eat a cooked breakfast. I don't think I should have had to do that. The second morning it all started over again. Really difficult.

Having only a short stay. Longer next time.

The breakfast was faultless with everything you could want for and cooked to your individual taste. I’d like to clarify my reason for not giving full marks for location. We are both not as young as we were so would have struggled to walk into town. Fortunately this was only a small matter…I drove.

This felt quite obviously like a place meant for older, retired visitors, or those traveling for pleasure by car. I booked here as a walker trying to escape the rain, and was mortified to see that every floor surface is covered by white carpet - including the front area. I was so embarrassed by my muddy boots and although the host was quite kind about it, I could sense her disapproval. I felt afraid to touch anything and unfortunately it made my stay feel like I was a strange, uninvited guest in someone's home rather than a paying customer. There is a lovely seating area for guests upstairs but again it felt strange, like I was invading their living space. I have stayed at BnBs where the couple lives at the house before but I'm not sure whether it was the design of the house (bedrooms are on the lower floor) or my embarrassment - it just felt more like staying in someone's home rather than a fairly pricey BnB. They also only take cash, check, or e-transfer (which continued not to work), which is quite odd/ inconvenient.

Breakfast was exceptional and the room was spacious. Quite far from the town centre on foot and up a hill, but had lovely views of the valley from the front-facing rooms. Room was spacious and well equipped, with a tray of treats, tea and coffee making facilities, with the option of fresh milk on request. Toiletries provided.

Having to leave

The whole package was amazing. The room was so spacious with more enough storage space. Not only was tea and coffee left, but fruit teas and hot chocolate plus kit kats. Lovely option available for fresh millk. Hosts could not be more friendly. Extra blanket and heater available if needed.(not needed by us as room was just right with the heating provided). Bathroom .... Lovely to have option of a bath and shower. We certainly appreciated a soak after our days out. Breakfast ... Wow just wow. From presentation, to choice to quality all amazing.

The host could not have been more friendly and helpful - thank you. The room was super and the breakfast generous. It's a bit of a walk back into town (25 mins and a steep, but short, hill on the way back), but if you're not concerned about that then this is an excellent place to stay. I am happy to recommend it.

The room was large and really clean, plenty cushion and extra blanket if required. The blinds get the room really really dark for a great sleep. The bathroom is big and very clean. Barratt is a very nice host, he gave some food tips for the evening meals ans cooked us amazing breakfast the 2 morning we spent there.

From booking our stay the host Bharat was helpful and responsive. The accomodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and we were made to feel welcome. It's 5 minutes drive from Monmouth and the mountain views we're lovely. A very wide choice of lovely dried breakfast items, then there was the cooked breakfast too. It set is up for the day.
