As a solo traveler I found the layout of the dinning room very uncomfortable.

Room decor was tired and needed some refurbishment, but that may have been just my room. It was a very pleasant stay and I would have no qualms in returning for another visit.

Breakfast was good , evening meal was excellent, and facilities aplenty.

The room could have been cleaner and the bed clothes smelt. The shower was poor and stopped working altogether on our second day, this was fixed eventually.

    • Family Room with Sea View

The overall decor is tired and needs refreshing, chipped paint in communal areas and rooms, carpet stains, etc. But the property is very clean, constant staff cleaning, hovering, etc. Biggest issue for us was the mattresses, they are old and we could really feel the springs digging in. They really need to update the mattresses / beds.

very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent facilities, esp for kids on a rainy / cold day. The games area is amazing. Breakfast was very good, buffet style with fresh hot cooked bacon, eggs, etc.

There were issues with the television in our room. I had to notify staff, then management to get it sorted. Which it then was.

The hotel was in an excellent location, the vast majority of staff were friendly and welcoming.

The standard room was very dated and we found it very bizarre how there was a fire exit door in there. The green light on the fire exit sign was bright at night which was very annoying. The room was expensive considering how basic it was. We wouldn't book a standard room again. The shower wouldn't work one morning and it was a few hours before it was fully sorted which delayed us from starting our day as we had planned. The lady on Reception was amazing though! The cleaners were very unfriendly on the day our shower wasn't working. They knocked and wanted to clean the room. When I told them that we were only just having showers, one cleaner rolled her eyes and was quite rude. The other cleaner just looked at me, then walked off.

We have been coming to TLH every year for 6 years and love it here! The facilities are ideal if you have young kids or teens as there is plenty to do! The Toorak Hotel is our favourite and we usually book a sea view room. This year, we had a view overlooking the rear car park and pool. The indoor pool is fantastic and there is a small arcade with pool tables and mini bowling too. There are eating options in the Aztec or Albert's but we only had one meal there. The location is ideal - just 5 mins walk to the beautiful seafront of Torquay. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, especially the lovely lady on Reception who stored our bags on the last day to enable us to enjoy an extra few hours wandering around Torquay. Overall, another lovely stay. We will be back!

The Toorak Hotel is part of a large complex that includes four hotels, each offering a variety of restaurants. However, it’s worth noting that many of the dining options close early, making it challenging to find food after 9:00 PM. The complex features plenty of cafes and numerous entertainment options, particularly for children, making it an ideal destination for a family vacation. Our family, including our 10-year-old child, stayed in different buildings, including Victoria and Toorak. Some rooms, especially in Victoria, were less comfortable due to their smaller size and lack of coziness. We preferred our stay at Toorak, where the conditions were more enjoyable. Despite these minor drawbacks, we had a wonderful time, staying busy with various activities and only returning to the hotel to rest. I would highly recommend this hotel for families with children or anyone seeking an active vacation with a good selection of bars and other amenities. The amazing kids' club, featuring bowling, arcade and board games, table tennis, air hockey, and an excellent swimming pool, was especially delightful for our 10-year-old. There’s also a very good café-bistro located next to the pool. I’d like to highlight the attentive service at reception, especially Claire, as well as the friendliness of the entire hotel staff, who were always ready to assist. Thank you—we will definitely return!

This particular part of the hotel is quite a walk from the main facilities for disabled people like me. The hotel is made up of 4 in one, so be careful when booking that you’re not too far away from the entertainment and facilities if you are disabled. The first room we were given felt very close and small, so I asked the lady at reception if we could change rooms and she was very friendly and helpful!

The pool is great, lots of play parks and entertainment for children. The food is good at the restaurant on site. We had a live singer in the outside bar area which was nice and the staff are all very friendly & helpful. It’s good value for the price you pay. We will defo be a regular returning customer!

The rooms were outdated and we had 4 rooms as we are a big family but unfortunately the rooms were very far apart so a bit of a walk trying to connect with family.

The swimming pool was amazing!! The kids all loved it and didn't want to leave. It was raining when we arrived even though it was mid summer but the hotel facilities meant kids were fully occupied!
