Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMissed the sign for Tom Beag as we were returning from Malaig and had to turn around and come back. A bit pricey for a one night stop.
The host was really nice. The room was beautifully set out with extra fruit, snacks porridge biscuits water and the en suite was very modern. That night we were lucky to see an awesome super nova moon The views from our bedroom window were stunning.

Super host, picturesque views from our room. Everything you needed was in the room. Location was ideally situated in between Fort William and Mallaig. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you Natalie.

United KingdomThe pillows were a bit hard and I didn't sleep very well but that's just personal preference! :)
Host was exceptionally nice and helpful, it was genuinely nice to see someone who cared about their guests! Each morning when we left she'd come in and replenish the coffees and everything! She was absolutely amazing! I couldn't recommend this place more!

GermanyWe were looking for somewhere to stay overnight so that we could start our trip to the Isle of Skye from there. It was the perfect place for us. Our host Natalie was so kind, gave us tips for trips near Fort William. The Glenfinnan Viaduct (Hogwarts Express 😉) is only about a quarter of an hour away and the train passes right by the road in front of the house. We could only get a glimpse of the view of Ben Nevis as it was foggy. We've never stayed in an AirBnB/Motel/Hotel (*****!) that was so perfectly clean and tidy before! There is no longer a breakfast menu, but there is a plentiful supply of tea and coffee (instant), small snacks and fresh apples and bananas every day. A great start to our early day. We would have liked to stay longer and hope to see you again soon in the Highlands 🩵

United KingdomThis was the first time in all my travels that I truly felt the utmost care for the customer. From the thoughtful details like a wide variety of teas and coffee to the warm welcome and spotless environment, everything was considered from start to finish. The hosts were such warm and lovely people. And not to mention the breathtaking view of Ben Nevis straight through the window!

United KingdomNothing!
The room was spotlessly clean and had lots of lovely options for tea and coffee as well as fruit and some breakfast snacks. There was also lots of parking available including two spaces on a less steep part of the property, so nice if you don’t trust your cars hand break. The host was super kind and chatty and was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat and visit.

United StatesLittle way out of town but if you want a nice place to stay and away from noisy tourists, I would recommend the guesthouse.
The accommodation was amazing! The owners were very friendly, helpful and felt at home, lots of extras in the welcome package. Very clean with a wonderful view of Ben Nevis.

United KingdomThere is no access to a kitchen. Although there is a makeshift refrigerator in the room, a microwave oven would have been great. We got some food to takeaway and a couple beers, a microwave oven would have enabled hot food to go with cold beers!
Beautiful room nestled in a big bungalow right at the foot of the majestic Ben Nevis. Serene and calm and Natalie was such a wonderful host. Highly recommended!

NetherlandsThis is by far one of the nicest rooms (more like a suite) we have ever stayed in. The attention paid to all details in terms of appearance and comfort is extraordinary. We felt extremely spoiled. The suite was equipped with coffee, every conceivable type of tea, breakfast oatmeal, fruit and various snacks. Everything was replenished daily. The room was spotless, the shower was lovely, there was a broad selection of toiletries available for guest use. The host is attentive, friendly and helpful. The view from the room was gorgeous and the large bed was very comfortable. We absolutely enjoyed this wonderful stay.
