I think that it could do with a little TLC in terms of the decor but overall it was a comfortable stay and it was clean in the main. There were a couple of cobwebs but we can all miss those from time to time. There were cracked tiles in the en suite and the shower door does not seal properly either. the heated towel rail definitely needs replacing as it is very tired looking and paint is starting to peel off of it. In the main bathroom the shower attachment to the mixer taps in the bath leaked by way if fittings not being tightened up properly so it sprayed and leaked water everywhere if you tried to use it. Overall though it was clean and tidy.

It was a lovely location and the house was clean and comfortable. It had most things you needed for your stay in terms of self catering. We would stay again as there wasn't anything major to complain about. There are shops nearby in Matlock which is about a 10 minute drive away. The lake was beautiful even when it rained on the odd day during our stay and we had a daily visit from some if the birds on the lake which was lovely.

There needed to be more facilities in the kitchen area eg pans and utensils. What was there was not the cleanest!

Location and staff at the complex were helpful and friendly. The rooms were a good size and it was nice having 3 bathrooms

Some of the equipment was very worn and the frying pan for example would probably not pass any health and safety regulations as the non stick was peeling off!

Unfortunately the bedrooms were very dusty around the coroner’s of the rooms and required an additional clean from ourselves.

It was spacious and had good facilities. Nice view with the lake.

Some areas of the accommodation feel tired and required a little more attention to the cleaning Cutlery very sticky Sink dirty and sink drainer has mould around the edges fusty/damp smell in accommodation once windows opened it smelt better

Good location accommodation check in very easy lots of facilities in accommodation everything you needed Gardens walks and grounds were amazing the staff we met were extremely friendly big shout out the the gardener we met praised for a great show in the gardens he has created

Wifi a bit intermittent

Great location. Went with my elderly Mum & husband. We're familiar with Derbyshire and this location is perfect for where we wanted to go. Darwin Lakes is a fantastic place to stay regardless of how many of you there are.

Broken and loose slabs on path to cottage. Cottage decor was a bit tired. Mouldy grout in en-suite shower. Missing seal on shower door in bathroom.

Cottage had lovely views over the lake. Great location, ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. Plenty of room on ground floor. Very practical flooring for the dog.

Lack of recycling, the cot for our baby was not a cot - it was a play pen, so we could not use it

I felt that this cottage could’ve been a little cleaner, I had to get rid of several spiders and cobwebs and the outdoor windows needed a good brush down. absolutely no Wi-Fi , drip fed on the odd occasions but more or less no connection 99% if the time.

The location of the Tissington was lovely, at the edge of the lake. Good size for 2 adults and 2 children. heating was good.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The only thing I could suggest was that the cottage could do with a fresh paint/tidy up.

Pretty cottage and beautiful views. The cottage had everything we needed. The staff were really helpful and called ahead to ask if we needed a high chair because we had requested a travel cot, which I thought was excellent customer service.

Very poor mattress in main bedroom. It was changed after two nights. One radiator down stairs did not work.. Room very cold on arrival.

The location was lovely, really tranquil and relaxing. The cottage was very nicely decorated and furnished. All the facilities we needed.

The master bedroom mattress must be changed. It was fluffier than a pillow and we could feel all the springs on the bed. Had to sleep on sofa. Internet connection should be a little faster considering these days we all watch streaming services.

It's a great location, great place and very idyllic ! We will return again... Our house was next to the lake which could not have any better location. BBQ was all set up. House was squeeky clean.. perfect.. 5 stars !!!
