Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt is a 45min drive from the airport.
I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough! The location is absolutely unbeatable, with stunning views of the sea right across the street. Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was truly a dream come true. The rooms were beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax. The hosts were so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast spread was delicious and varied, with fresh local produce and homemade treats that left us feeling satisfied and ready for a day of exploring. I cannot wait to return to this little slice of paradise by the sea. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

GermanyNothing! Though next time I'll book a room with a view!
Helen was a great host from the start. Even though I only informed her on short notice, I was able to check in late. All communication was very easy. I stayed at a small room without sea view, which was expected, though the windows were very small indeed. If I stayed for longer than two days, or hadn't known in advance that the room was to the back, I might not have enjoyed my stay as much, as the room was quite dark. But as it was, I was lucky that I got a room at all, booked only a few days in advance. The room itself was nice enough, small but bigger than I expected (room for a cupboard and a commode), the decor quite cosy. The in-room tea making facilities were very good, and Helen brought me some fresh milk on the first night. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. The dog was very well behaved and quite friendly, but Helen makes sure you only meet him if you are okay with dogs - a great set-up. I had brought takeaway for dinner (forewarned that there isn't much food available locally in the evenings). Helen brought me a place setting so I could eat it in the common room, which is slightly cooky but absolutely lovely and comfortable, with a really good collection of books about the area. Parking on the street is easy and convenient. I loved walking on the sandy beach first thing in the morning, even if it is just a narrow one. I can't wait to go back, though next time I'll make sure to book early enough to get a sea-facing room!

United KingdomThe all-too-short stay.
So much attention paid to the ambience-a delightful property. Comfortable bed with a view of the ocean from the bed . Reminded me of a book I read as a child which described a bed flying out of the window into fairytale country .there is a REAL fairy glen close by! Waking up to the rhythmic sound of the ocean and sea birds was such a novelty.

ItalyAbsolutely nothing - we loved everything!
The place was lovely, the host even more so. The house is kept wonderfully well. It offers all the luxuries one can hope for from a lovely aunt's house where you go for the holidays and get spoiled and cared for over and over again. Helen, the host, was super nice: available practically 24/7, ready to help you in any way she thinks of and great with tips on where to go and where to eat. We will definitely go back and we have already started telling friends and sharing fotos!

GermanyThe shower isn‘t great when you want to clean yourself without getting your hair wet. But its not impossible either - so no major complaint…just if I have to think about something negative.
Friendly host, great communication in advance, excellent bed, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the sea, very quiet at night so no problem leaving the window open, beautiful area with wonderful walks close by. Very beautiful house.

United KingdomThe fact I couldn’t stay longer, it was such a beautiful place I wish I had more time haha
We arrived a bit earlier than expected but there was a cute bench at the front door so we just sat there for a little while, whilst we waited to check in. Helen is such a lovely lady, she was so kind the entire stay. I also got to meet Beau and he was so friendly and welcoming too (definitely a good boy). The b&b itself have a lovely homely feeling to it. The bed was really comfy and the room also had a coffee machine and a good sized fridge in the wardrobe. It was my first time visiting Rosemarkie and I will definitely be coming back. I would also recommend staying here to anyone that mentioned they wanted to stay near inverness. It’s the perfect place to go if you love nature as you have the beach, there’s a woodland path called “fairy glen” and then there’s also the roads which have great views of mountains and fields for miles! 10/10

United KingdomNothing.
The room was very clean and beautifully presented, and very generous in size. It had a beautiful view down the beach. Everything was thought of, and I liked the addition of the fridge with fresh milk and water. It would be handy if you were staying longer to put drinks in. Helen was really kind and helpful with booking a table for an evening meal. Tide times were written up and when best to watch for dolphins. I saw loads which was a real treat. Breakfast was really nice with plenty of options. Even though I only stayed one night, I would happily stay for longer as the area is so beautiful and the guest house really lovely. It also has a large guest lounge which is also where breakfast is served. Thank you for a great stay Helen, and for the room upgrade which was a nice treat. I'd highly recommend.

United KingdomThank you Helen for making us both feel very welcome and for allowing us to share your beautiful art and craft period house for 4 nights . The view was breathtaking looking out across the bay. We had a double room which was very comfortable which had everything we needed and it was spotlessly clean. The en suite had everything we needed and lovely bedding and towels. Breakfast was cooked to order and was all lovely local produce. Great location on the Black Isle and loved seeing Bo the black Labrador in the garden. Can't wait to come back.

DenmarkI got surprised when I saw on booking.com that I had given 7.5 on a review. Which I have definitively not done. Is this some kind of automation? must be corrected.
It was awsome laying in bed and look straight out to the ocean. Nice surroundings with sme very good restaurants nearby, hiking possibilities, beach, and we some dolphins!! Helen was a very good host.

Puerto RicoThe owner was lovely, friendly and happy to share information on the area, even helped us get a late dinner reservation just a half a block away. Breakfast was delicious and the views from here are incredible. Such an easy walk to the beach with miles of shore to explore. I would have loved to spend a week there!
