Good value hotel situated in a beautiful village of country homes from the early 1900s

Being a golf club, they invariably have to mow the field and that happened too early for my liking! Otherwise not noisy.

Good value and spacious. Nice staff. Hearty breakfast.

The first floor room overlooks the practice putting green and meeting place so we felt very exposed and very little privacy. Also, activities started very early which woke us up!

Unfortunately we were awoken very early by golfers teeing off outside our room. The curtains in our room were not blackout so the light coming in also woke us up earlier than planned. We also felt like 10am checkout was a little earlier than generally offered at hotels

The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location and setting is lovely. Lovely walks starting & finishing at the golf course. The staff were wonderful, communicative and helpful. Nice breakfast

The television in our room didn't work, but we didn't report this to reception as after busy days out we were too tired to watch it!

The room was quiet, spacious and clean, a little dated, but the beds were very comfortable. The location is ideal for visiting Minsmere, Dunwich and Aldeburgh. Best of all was professional service and the high quality of food in the restaurant. Gluten free no problem and all the staff were aware - thank you. We very much enjoyed the breakfasts - lots of choice and superbly cooked. We have stayed before and will certainly return again.

The hotel is slightly tired and could do with a re-furb but this didn’t detract from our very comfortable stay. It is very good value for money.

Room size wonderful and very clean. Nice view across the fairways. Breakfast was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Carpark very close to room which is a bonus .

Our room was very good but the outside of the hotel looked quite tired. Beer prices were reasonable but we thought that the cost of a medium glass of wine at £8.50 was a bit steep. On balance the cost of B&B was higher than we would normally expect to pay but as it was close to one of the courses we were playing and we also played the on site course that was a compromise we accepted.

We had bed and breakfast and breakfast was very good. We did have a meal after golf one day and that was very good as well. Our room was large and was quiet, ideal when you are a light sleeper like me - although there was a putting green just outside our window which was cut about 7.45 every morning so no lie in! All the staff were helpful and friendly.

The staff were really lovely and helpful but in the restaurant, with premium pricing/food, they needed to have a higher level of training for service.

Lovely old world club/hotel. Even as a non golfer it was a lovely place to stay. We were going to bring the dog and wished we had as it was very dog friendly (even allowed on golf course with golfers!)

The room was rather tired, but the bathroom had obviously been renovated recently which was lovely, fresh and spotlessly clean.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. Tasty and freshly cooked, despite having a restaurant full of guests. Staff went overboard to be courteous and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

Did not appreciate walkers passing the bedroom window. Had to keep curtains closed in the morning until dressed. Would have preferred an upstairs room

We booked a standard double room. Sadly, the room we were allocated did not match the quality of the facilities shown on Booking .com. We didn't have a view over the grounds. Our room did not have the amount of furniture shown. The curtains had tears in the lining material. No privacy with the curtains open. Generator humming at night.

Lovely location. Good food in the restaurant

Breakfast was poor for the money, overcooked toast and v tired looking smashwd avocado on my poached egg breakfast dish and eggs were overcooked. Coffee was horrid.

Siruation was good, room was a little tired, but spitlessly clean throughout. Plumbing needed attention as bath didn't drain well after showering, okay on my own but two people couldn't have taken baths.

Could do with a lick of paint outside

Room was a good size and had a huge comfortable bed, there was an excellent bathroom. There were lovely views over the golf course. Great breakfast to start the day, in the evening we ate in Briars Bar and the food was good and well priced with excellent service.
