Parts of the hotel were looking a bit tired and out of date, although certainly a great place if you like opening door while carrying your bags… we must have had 6/8 doors to contend with from reception to our room.

The staff were fantastic, special mention for Becca who is the backbone of the Weathervane Hotel by Greene King Inns. Becca demonstrated excellent customer service and was really helpful.

A little dated and a few bits needed looked at but we managed fine and was a good stay for the price .

Our room was far enough away from the bar area to avoid any noise. Lots of parking. Breakfast was fantastic actually, lots of selection and food was good . Bed was comfortable.

Noise travels though the hotel, floors creaked from above us but fortunately whoever was above went to bed at a sensible time. The toilet takes a while to refill the basin but that's more an observation. The duvets on the bed are brilliant, but too warm for the weather at the time so I slept half uncovered.

Unfortunately I can't remember her name, but the lady at the check in desk was amazing. Brilliant sense of humour, give us all the information we needed, informed us of everything important we had to know and made us feel so welcome, just what we needed after a long journey. The room was comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep. The room is whatever basic, but I don't think there is much more anyone would want when using the room purely for sleeping. The location of the hotel is well situated with shops across the road, a pub attached to the hotel and some lovely local scenery/structures if you are willing to go for a short walk around.

The floor of the food hall was quite messy on both evenings when we came back from our trip. Human error perhaps, but the cleaner left our dirty mugs in our bathroom sink on the second evening without replacement mugs. The bed was a bit spongy, but preference will go a long way here.

Nice, helpful staff. Quick arrival of food to tables when ordered. Beds were made nice on arrival. Breakfast was yummy and worth its money.

The broken toilet seat didn’t help and it’s an older building so lots of creeky floorboards which could get a bit noisy sometimes.

For a cheap and cheerful stay this is your place! Staff were really lovely and helpful. Food was spot on and also the free brekky included in the price hit the spot.

Interiors rather dated, in need of a good refurb, mould in the bathroom, floor coming away. Floorboards squeaking above, we could hear the room above moving around at 6am.

Good location, we stayed for Alton towers which is only 25 mins drive away. Food served in attached pub was decent. Friendly staff.

The doors to the corridors were quite noisy and made the room door rattle each time they were opened, which seemed like a lot at night! There was quite a lot of noise from the carpark at times depending on how many bikers and boy racers were about...

Handy location for an Alton Towers trip. Nice food in the resteraunt/pub downstairs. Friendly and helpful staff.

Furniture looking worn… quite a lot of smoking near door… inc the door to accommodation. Needs to be managed better.. shouldn’t have to walk through smokers. Quite expensive compared to some.

Been coming for 5-6 years for Alton towers but its definitely due an upgrade. Lights hanging from walls, toilet seat broken, windows need changing as drafty and mouldy.

On site Hungry Horse and value for money, cant complain for the price and will be back again no doubt.

Room could have had a better view. We were at the back and were facing the bin area. I get that somebody has to look at it but it was a bit untidy on the second morning

Excellent selection for breakfast. Full English plus a variety of pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. really good, although they could have added a few more beans to the full English (literally a couple of teaspoons of beans. Other than that, fab! Great location for Alton towers. Aldi, Tesco and McDonald’s next door. Food menu was lovely on the evening. Friendly staff.

Noise from the room above us, we could hear them walking across the floor. Slight wear and tear on furniture and old windows, but would definitely return for a budget stay.

Clean spacious room, very comfy bed/ pillows. Great food served in the evening in the Hungry horse pub/ restaurant next door, excellent value for money. Breakfast was superb! full continental selection and finished with a full cooked breakfast.

The side board dressing table Tv stand needed up dating was scratched a little out of dates & tired

Clean well kept good heating system I was able to control dressing & Tv side board was tired over all a good stay great shower room was lovely modern power shower that was great
