The toaster definitely needs changing for something better and quicker. Also the thermos flasks don't keep the coffee piping hot.

Very hit and miss. A couple of breakfasts the bacon wasn't cooked as I asked and the fried eggs were very rubbery. This mornings breakfast (27th), however, was perfect! Bacon was just as requested, and lovely perfectly cooked fried egg. Choice of breakfast is good. Continental selection also good choices..

The bathroom could have been cleaner- black mould on sealing and some corners of the bath. Toilet didn't flush properly and the shower wasn't very hot.

Staff were friendly and helpful, beds were comfy, good sized room, complimentary tea/coffee, really nice pub attached with good food and wide selection of drinks. Location was good- only 20 min drive from Alton Towers which was the main reason for booking.

The bed wasn’t comfortable and needed to change rooms, little improvements in the second room in terms of the bed.

The pub was extremely noisy in the evening especially on Friday night when we arrived. Couldn’t hear each other. Thankfully you could not hear the noise once in room

Maintenance of room. Room 10. Family room. Bathroom is very tired. Limescale over the shower. Flooring coming away. Bulb above bed gone. Only 1 pillow each. App has been updated so unless you have compatible phone unable to order room service.

Floorboards creaked, we had the room above reception and closest to the pub so was really noisy and when the window was open it let in the smoke from people having cigarettes outside. The headboard wasn’t attached to the wall correctly so creaked every time you moved. Mattress on the sofa bed was very thin so not very comfortable for the kids. (We had a family room).

Our mattress had a huge dip, visibly noticeable when the duvet was on top, the springs in the mattress had completely failed, leaving only one side of the mattress usable. Bath had a huge chip out of the bottom, which would have been fair enough, but when I went to put the plug in, there was a used hair bobble complete with all of the hair attached and the hair that was stuck down the plug hole. It was clearly not recent as when I pulled it up the hair from the plug hole smelled rancid. Rooms are a little tired and could do with an update.

The location was good for travelling to Alton Towers. It was around 8.8 miles from the theme park and next to a Tesco which was good for picking up items. Extra pillows were available in the room which was great.

It was a little dated, in need of updated decor, some black mould stains around the bath in the sealant. Really not much to complain about.

Very clean, friendly staff. Affordable resteraunt, great parking, spacious rooms. This is our second stay here and we will stay again.

The noise, it is a loud family pub. However, I'm usually shattered by the time I get there so it's more my tiredness than makes me irritable.
