The service was a bit slow due to shortage of staff.

Room was clean and it was in a quiet location. The Swan also has a car park, an added bonus. The selection on the breakfast menu was good, along with the self-service, cereals, juices, fruit etc.

The room at the front of hotel could do with less traffic noise, but that depends on what the hotel is allowed to do.

Well the room was very clean and tidy, the location was very good, the food on our first night and breakfast the following morning was very good, the second day not so good.

We booked because of the car park. We had 2 sets of golf clubs in the car. The car park was full. We were told everyone parked there were residents. We saw a few staff members parking there. Another couple that were staying there a week said they had to be back at 2pm every day to get a parking spot.

Welcome from the staff was just what we needed after a very busy day.

Asked for early check in in February notes and followed up and no accommodating, not even with an hour after long commute. Checked in after 3 pm when ready. This is the biggest, best room….could have tried to accommodate. Hotel restaurant. Unlike other hotels, no rooms saved for hotel guests. When inquired would take ANY time slot in two days…very unaccomodating again. Fortunately the restaurants across the street were terrific.

Staff. The view from room 26.

Having to wait for my evening meal, I thought the time from ordering to it actually being served over two nights wasn't acceptable. Also, it appeared more was off the menu than was actually on it. Overall, this did let our trip down. Sorry.

Despite presenting as a period coaching Inn, the Swan is unfortunately more like an upmarket Travel Lodge. Decorated in grey, with chrome fittings, every bit of character has been beaten out of this building. So disappointed to see this desecration of history.

Great location, clean good sized rooms. Decent breakfast

The original room /suiet I booked was very luxurious but rather dark and had no view. They kindly allowed me to change to one with an excellent view.

Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating when I wanted to change rooms. I also failed to book an evening meal but staff went out of their way to provide a meal for us despite them being very busy. Nothing was too much trouble!

I was delayed by traffic and arrived at 8:50 pm after booking a table for 8:00pm and so missed out. It was entirely my fault but if your website had stated the time for last orders for dinner, I could have stopped elsewhere during my 130 mile drive from Hertfordshire. Your on-line check-in doesn’t work.

Beds could have been a bit more comfortable.

Wells is a delightful hidden gem of a "city" and this is an excellent hotel right in the heart of it. We had a small issue with our first room which was immediately handled by finding a new room for us. On the night there wasn't a wedding the place was quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Broken guttering meant a waterfall ran all night when it rained. Lots of visits to the loo! Bathroom fittings are a bit worn and tired.

Pastries were in short supply on one morning at breakfast, and the only fruit was some cut up melon, a few bananas and apples Not sure door to stable accommodation should be left open. Pigeons flying in and out, so bird poo on carpet in entrance, and on handrail on stairs

Great location in centre of Wells, no need to use the car while staying. Spacious room, good shower. Enjoyed the cooked breakfast, flexible with what you wanted to order. Great to have a car park to use.

Very little not to like. The water pressure in the basin was low but not in the shower, which would have been more of a problem. It was very busy and the car park was a bit chaotic. This was sorted out very efficiently by the staff.

Room location was very good. Quiet and very few steps to climb. There was a good walk in shower with lovely toiletries. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were very pleasant. Good location in the centre of Wells.
